So Spurs signed Bergwijn for 30 million euros. Fair deal. Doubt he'll make it though. Really could use another season at PSV to become the absolute star of the club. Like Depay did before him. Depay was much further in his development and even he didn't make it in England.

The thing with us is that we can't really afford to wait for these guys to fully develop, once they do we are talking £60m+ and we don't really operate in that market. We have to buy them when they are almost ready and hope they make the final step with us.

I don't think Bergwijn will ever enter that market with the current PSV. They don't have the chance to display their players in the Champions League. They failed miserably in this years EL campaign. And by the looks of it there won't be CL for them next season either. Only thing that could bump up his value is the Euros over the summer I'd say. If he performs above expectations his value might go up to 40/50 million euros. He's simply not that unique of a talented guy as Frenkie and De Ligt were. These guys crushed Eredivisie outgoing transfer records but that won't happen for a while now I think. Even our guys (Van de Beek, Neres, Ziyech, Tagliafico, Onana) won't come close to those transfer sums.
Bergwijn is a great talent of course. Had a very good season last year. This year he declined mostly. But the talent is there. Just think he needs a comfortable environment to get better. A big EPL club in a rough spot performance wise doesn't seem the most logical choice to make.
Plus Mourinho
Who is the last rough but talented player who has smoothed the edges off under him? Even his weird obsession McTominay looked bang average, and became a much better player under Solksjaer. The likes of Rashford, Martial and Lukaku went backwards when they were supposed to be developing. I'm not sure he has the inclination, the ability, or the patience to let a player (especially an attacking one) make mistakes in that period between being a prospect and a top player.

When was the last time he managed a club that wasn't expecting to win the title, though? The pressure at Tottenham is not the same as at his previous clubs. Part of the job for any manager working under Levy is to develop the younger talents that we buy, that is our football model. The model is not to win the title no matter what it takes.
Now I'm not sure that Mourinho is a man who can work well in these conditions but he knew what he was getting into.
Well I suppose with the money spending and ambition Levy will want to see a title at some point. Surely it's not realistic it will happen this year. But I suppose the minimum Levy will expect is Spurs to be in the race till the end of the season normally. You can't tell me that's not the kind of pressure you experience at Spurs. If that's the case I won't expect Spurs to win anything ever at all. At some point you gotta change the attitude if you want to hang out with the big boys.
the Emre Can money is going to be thrown at Tonali, talk about an upgrade! Probably the only player thats actually a bit like Pirlo out of all the pretenders out there

Already other reports saying it is not Sander Berge arriving at Carrington. Unknown who the lad in the car is though.

That move to the London Stadium has been an absolute waste of time, hasn't it.
Whoda thunk..
Hahaha, that would be something. I know nothing is certain in this sport untill it's done. But Fernandes to United was something I was pretty sure about considering what's been going around in the press.

In my FIFA 20 save Atal, Lodi, Haaland, Nübel, Upemacano and Oyarzabal are playing for Ajax. Anything can happen aye.
Randy, De Ligt's been leading our backline lately!
Sarri switched his CB side too, which makes sense.
why dont you guys want us to enjoy the future tho

Yeah this is the biggest turn around for sure. I didn't understand Sarri did that for Demiral but not for De Ligt but he's finally seen the light it seems. Pun intended.
If only Chiellini would be fit and standing next to Matthijs to tutor him to a new level. I think it's a bit much to ask of a 20 year old to carry your entire backline. You know mistakes will happen and the media are more than happy to jump on that. Luckily he's got a good head.
Bonucci is painful to watch in a back four, he's so used to someone cleaning up his messes.
and the less I say about Cuadrado the better....no joke but De Ligt defends for three most of the time lmao
yeah can't wait for Chiellini :(

So Ajax is getting some money for the Eriksen transfer and then some extra for the Bergwijn transfer as well. Overmars counting his money and we're not even selling. If the 2 million rumours are true about Eriksen that's actually quite a big deal. That's 20% of our yearly TV rights income.

Rodrigo to Barca.
Cavani close to an Atleti transfer.
