There's a bunch of non nazis and specifically watchdog people on Parler.
Guess they deserve their privacy breached especially when people won't know the difference.

Can a judge just throw out a case after a certain amount of spelling and/or grammatical errors?
If they can’t even bother to proofread their shit then its an obvious waste of time. If you tried submitting something like that in law school I’m guessing you would fail.

Is that the MyAnalytics bullshit? I get work email's about that and ignore it because my job doesn't use them (I hope).

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court late Wednesday night barred restrictions on religious services in New York that Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo had imposed to combat the coronavirus.Cool. More people are gonna needlessly die so people can hear someone recite a passage indoors from a 2000 year old book.
The vote was 5 to 4, with Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and the court’s three liberal members in dissent. The order was the first in which the court’s newest member, Justice Amy Coney Barrett, played a decisive role.
In a concurring opinion, Justice Neil M. Gorsuch said Mr. Cuomo had treated secular activities more favorably than religious ones.Amazing smoothbrain opinion

By aka Espi Go To PostProbably the first of many highly intelligent decisions from a Trump heavy SC.I just hate that we decided to give more protections to a group of people that don't believe in COVID being real than the people that could eventually suffer from this as this will increase the chance of the virus spreading if they are allowed to congregate en masse indoors. Reckless.
At the same time, the Governor has chosen to impose no capacity restrictions on certain businesses he considers “essential.” And it turns out the businesses the Governor considers essential include hardware stores, acupuncturists, and liquor stores. Bicycle repair shops, certain signage companies, accountants, lawyers, and insurance agents are all essential too. So, at least according to the Governor, it may be unsafe to go to church, but it is always fine to pickup another bottle of wine, shop for a new bike, or spend the afternoon exploring your distal points and meridians. Who knew public health would so perfectly align with secular convenience?
yep
By diehard Go To PostyepThe acupuncture lobby is incredibly powerful and influential.

Are people hanging out indoors for hours at these shops with hundreds of people next to them, or are these shops limiting capacity and making sure people move in and out quickly?
I also suppose if a water heater breaks inside your house you should just take cold showers in the winter.
But hey, let people congregate indoors with hundreds of others so they can recite old books and get others sick in the process. Also, why can't religious groups gather outdoors?
By diehard Go To Postyep
You telling me you don’t see a difference between shopping in a store and standing next to people in pews?
By reilo Go To PostHoly false equivalency, Batman.I wonder which one of these things have constitutional protections?

This whole "recite old books" line is gross. Like it always seems, what liberties people support always come down to what they personally value.
They have no limiting capacity imposed by officials, but i guess because they aren't religious we just should believe they are all doing it out of the goodness of their heart.
By Lunatic Go To PostIs there anyone here from NY that actually has an idea whats going on there? Was in NYC for over a month back in September/October.
And what's going on? The Orthodox Jewish community doesn't believe in COVID, is going maskless, and attempting to congregate indoors en masse (hundreds of people) and flaunting all of the restrictions.
So it is mainly just the Orthodox Jewish community? I believe they are the ones that do that wild ass circumcision ritual. Don't think they care one bit about transmission of any kind.
By Fenderputty Go To PostYou telling me you don’t see a difference between shopping in a store and standing next to people in pews?Whats the limit of death are we willing to accept and for what trade offs? Who determines it?
He/they fucked up when there were hard limits set on churches but not these businesses.
By diehard Go To PostI wonder which one of these things have constitutional protections?I think not believing in an actual virus killing people and then receiving federal protections because you claim religion is more gross, but I suppose YMMV

Then again, in America, being healthy and alive isn't considered a liberty for many, anyhow.

By reilo Go To PostHoly false equivalency, Batman.Nah it's a problem in tons of places... Keep the same energy with these restrictions and these problems don't even manifest.

Looking the other way with religious crowds when it was convenient now creates the problem where enforcing anything is hard. Even worse when certain mayors decide to go against the grain and complicate things further as well.
Except these religious communities won't accept any restrictions and will attempt to use religious exemption to achieve that goal. They're not arguing from an honest position as is
By reilo Go To PostExcept these religious communities won't accept any restrictions and will attempt to use religious exemption to achieve that goal. They're not arguing from an honest position as isThat might be true but isn't this discussion about the court ruling? They have already upheld other restrictions that had restrictions set similar to businesses.
IMO they should have taken the building capacity numbers determined by fire code to come up with a flat percent restriction.

If any community can play the whatabout game then you need to prioritize addressing it before it gets out of hand like it is now. That means cracking down on all kinds of stuff. Because once you do - there's no room for this at all.
And yeah they can be religious or not too... Anyone can be an asshole. It's kinda wild how religious communities get the most shit in all this.
