By Perfect Blue Go To PostThere’s plenty of countries that are federal states that work well, like Canada and Switzerland, for example. In the US however the line between federal and state powers are VERY blurred and that creates conflict between the levels of government, and the states arguably have too much power in certain areas. You can't accurately compare the two even it they had similar systems as the circumstances are vastly different. The population of California is more than that of all of Canada.

I mean italicizing the “I” is pretty minimal effort. Not Kobe approved

Unfortunately, the constitution gives trump a fuck ton of leeway with immigration. Hopefully it’s only in place as long as he is. I kinda thought it would be less partisan
I have a guy on FB who, in the last year or so, has started posting insane conspiracy theories. He was fine until that time too :/
Here's an example:
I almost want to keep him on just to see what else he comes up with, lol.

I sort of predicted that Bloomberg would be there at the top after he decided to run. The amount of money he has to run a campaign is obscene and should be illegal. His play at the moment seems to be to ignore Iowa entirely, unlike the other candidates who are using all their money there, and go all in on Super Tuesday when the other competitors will be low on cash. He’s a seasoned politician so who knows if him being on debates will even work to bring him down, or backfire on the rest of the pack.
RealClearPolitics currently has him in fourth place.

https://morningconsult.com/2020/01/28/bloomberg-pulls-closer-to-warren-nationwide/
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg grew his nationwide support another 2 percentage points in the latest poll, bringing him to 12%, just behind Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s 14%. Over the past month, the billionaire has doubled his first-choice support among Democratic primary voters, and though he initially struggled with black voters, he has more than doubled the share of these voters who say he is their first choice (4% to 10%).
As Bloomberg grows his nationwide vote share, Democratic primary voters are seeing him in a more favorable light. Upon entering the race in November, Bloomberg’s net favorability (or the share of voters with favorable views minus those with unfavorable views) was just +5 among Democratic primary voters and +4 among black voters. In the latest poll, he was at +33 among all Democratic primary voters and +32 among black voters.

By n8 dogg Go To PostWhat has Bloomberg done to push himself into this position? It's just the money. He's far outspending everybody else on advertisements.
edit other than money obvs
I don't have cable or watch local channels, but whenever I am at a restaurant or bar, literally every other advertisement is a Bloomberg political ad. I'm not even exaggerating, he is blanketing airwaves with his political campaign.
Bloomberg and Steyer are both great example of how money affects a race. I doubt either one wins (so money isn't the only factory), as their chances are still low as fuck on 538, but these dudes were being laughed at when they started.
They're not playing to win, they're playing to get enough delegates to play Kingmaker at a brokered convention.

Why would anyone realistically be scared of this with the senate?

it’s not tho. Even in the most optimistic outcomes. The senate map and seats up for election aren’t changing. It’s a reason I’ve totally checked out of this election. All these policies being debated have the same chance of passing as I do at becoming a golf pro overnight

There’s a reason I’ve always been a pragmatist in politics. My ideology is way more liberal than what I pragmatically think we can achieve. Nobody runs or inspires based on incrementalism though.
That being said, for this election, none of these policies will ever pass. You would have to take 2020 and then 2022 in blow out numbers before any of this shit becomes even remotely possible.
Remember, we have dem senators from AZ and WV that are basically R votes for the more liberal policies

By DY_nasty Go To Postjust as bad if you live in the wrong areaOh for sure. Response times can be shit if the city decides they don't want to send people to your neighborhood. There are also towns that aren't even that isolated too that are losing much of their services to the larger regional private city hospitals that have bought them out. Gotta be driven by ambo or heli vac'd to the big one and charged out the ass for it.
but less shit that can affect you in the first place still puts you up a few points
To be clear: Big Bear is a mountain in so cal. It's about 45 minutes to the flat land / base of the mountain into Big Bear City. So it's not THAT far from civilization. The internet service up there is fine. Same with Cell. There's even decent eating in town. This biggest downgrade in my life would be healthcare concerns. If I bought a cheap cabin with my equity though, I could basically live there for about $700 a month including utilities and property taxes.
“Oregano Oil Proves Effective Against Coronavirus,” read one post that had been shared at least 2,000 times across multiple groups by Monday. The original post is a decade old, originating on a holistic care website — and scientists have said there is no such cure for coronavirus.

Vacations aren't really enough either.
