So there have already started being accusations on twitter that she’s ineligible because she’s a non-US citizen.

it doesn't matter what the republicans say about kamala. she needs to attract new voters and keep existing democrats voting. party literally incapable of any kind of self assessment. the biggest protests in the decade and you pick kamala "we need prison labor ijs" harris

Kamala got some serious daddy issues, btw. So there's some truth to that. LOL, she may actually be a closeted racist.
Even her own pops publicly aired her out from Jamaica during the early DNC debates last year.
After months of not being able to attack Joe on his old white guy status

The Biden / Kamala ticket seems specifically set up to win the GOP / Trump defectors with the usual Dem attitude that any centre-leftists will probably just vote for us out of sheer despair.
Think that worked really well last time IIRC?

I think the calculus for this election is that the new voters are disaffected republicans. Biden largely ignored the left faction during the primaries, no way he considers them in the general.
That’s not to says Biden’s platform isn’t liberal, just that he’s not allowing the left to drag him further.

She would be a bad pick a couple months ago--now with police reform being a massive talking point she suddenly has impact potential on swing voters. Her history of working with cops is another signal that the Biden administration will be moderate and something that "concerned '16 Trump voters" can live with.
Rice had openings Fox could run with from now through November. Warren brings nobody to the table. Bass? Lol. Duckworth has a lot of appeal, but don't know seriously she was involved in discussions.
I think Kamala's political leanings are more left than people think. A lot of her primary gaffe's were a result of trying to become the moderate vote leader in an extremely crowded arena. I think she would have liked to have ran a more left leaning campaign, but knew trying to snatch the Bernie vote was a road to nowhere. Her voting record in the senate is solid: https://progressivepunch.org/scores.htm?house=senate.

Get the fuck out of here with this childish shit.
Well actually it's looking good now. Guess the first result was from a rich white precinct and she still beat her challenger by a point
I’m pretty baffled they chose her with the protests going on. I remember asking DY about Sudan Rice, but he’s right about her too.
It’s even more baffling because everyone on the right and left seems to think Biden won’t last. So why choose and early drop out from the primary?

I suspect he chose her cause he knows this is a hard sell. He’s going after that center vote. Again she didn’t do well in the primaries so Dems rejected her for the grand stage. I feel like these moves have to be geared towards attracting the person in the middle who thinks Biden won’t last. The right is trying to hard sell her as the scary dark Marxist right now
If we’re as polarized as we are, they’re probably figuring the center is the only place they can kick up votes
She's a woman, so that makes us feel good.
She's black, so that makes the Jemela's feel good.
She's willing to do business if you donate to her campaign, so that makes Wall Street feel good.
She's a former cop who locked up black and brown people at record rates, so that makes...someone feel good I assume.
The Dems are banking on the fact that she isn't Trump. That's it. There's really no bigger angle at play. Fuck Trump is still their biggest rally cry. And I'm sure they'll find away to fuck even that two word messaging up over the next eight weeks.

How the hell do you sell Kamala to anyone as a presidential candidate that isn't a blue check mark groupie? If she had any kind of centrist pull at all, Pete never becomes a thing. You have to find a packageable middle ground between two massive, polarizing dialogues that happen to be the biggest non-pandemic narratives in the country right now. The absolute best case scenario is that she doesn't move the needle at all. I'll be shocked if the honeymoon period even lasts until September.

Her history of working with cops is another signal that the Biden administration will be moderate and something that "concerned '16 Trump voters" can live with.Voting record for a Pres is almost meaningless. They're not dictators, they're not legislators. What matters is character, decision making abilities, and executive skills. She's shown she is totally willing to be on the wrong side of history to get the W, and has alarmingly low levels of empathy, bordering on psychopathy.

So, the woman minority version of Trump with a for sure higher IQ. She's a killer. I guess they're trying to get swing voters, and hope BLM folks don't pay enough attention to see her history?

Yeah the gambit may not work or it may not matter. I just think that HAS to be the calculus cause I mean yeah lol🤷♂️. Also I don’t think they figure there’s many swayable votes. I also agree with GQ, they’re tying to appease everyone
It’s just weird cause yeah, normally everyone is like “ehh it’s just the VP” but this time everyone thinks that will be the eventual slide in.
