Tried the demo the other night with my wife and was very impressed. Superhot VR likewise.

By the way, I don't know who has a Rift S or Quest, but these straps are the good shit. I bought them shortly after buying the headset since they looked pretty comfy, and they are. The touch controllers are quite small, so playing with them for an hour or so gave me some hand cramp. The straps allowed me to let go of the controller and stretch my hands while still keeping the controllers in my hands.
Down side is the rubber band does get in the way of the home buttons. Worth the trade off though.

Other good shit, USB and DP extension cables. I'm using this and this, got them tied together with velcro straps and have them at the front of my desk so I can plug/unplug the headset without reaching around the back of the PC. I assume the same cables will work for the Valve Index.

More like Cybersandals
I have had a VR headset a while now and I love it but unfortunately I have not had as much time as I would like to play VR recently due to life/decorating/pregnant wife/baby getting in the way. My backlog of games is so large now that I have not got around to playing anything released in the last year or so.
Below I have ranked the games/experiences I have paid for from best to worst
Beat Saber
Robo Recall
Superhot
Lone Echo
Chronos
Wilsons Heart
Arizona Sunrise
I Expect You to die
Dirt Rally
Knockout League
Red Matter
Arktika.1
Batman Arkham VR
Edge of Nowhere
Thumper
Old Friend
Chocolate
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Talos Principle
Luckys Tale
The Blu
Accounting+
Rez
Invisible Hours
The Climb
Call of Starseed - The Gallery
Serious Sam: The Last Hope
Elite Dangerous
This is all just personal opinion and none of them are terrible apart from Elite Dangerous. It looked great in VR but I hated the game. Everything just took too long. I had to quit out after I was fined for flying too fast.
Some games like Rez, Invisible Hours, The Climb just didn't click with me. Other games like Wilsons Heart that I enjoyed early on will probably feel a bit dated now

Yeah Robo Recall, Lone Echo, Chronos, Wilsons Heart, Edge of Nowhere, The Climb, Luckys Tales and Arktika 1 are all made/funded by Oculus and they are exclusive to their store on PC. You can play them on other PC VR headsets but I think you may need some extra software. I am not sure about any of the others

By Laboured Go To PostAre any of those platform exclusive brother Diego?

Haven't used it myself, but I believe the software is called ReVive and you can use it to play otherwise exclusive Oculus games.

Just to give the eff you to valve I will play hl alyx with a rented oculus quest and a cloud pc. It is decided.

It's obviously a whole lot better than not having the option to go wired, but yeah, I don't know. Bit of a letdown.

I'm all in on the VR train. Purchased a PSVR (we had been borrowing our neighbours' recently) and the Move controllers. Atm we have Astro Bot, Ghost Giant and Superhot for it. Looking to grab some more.
Will also be grabbing an Index when they become available again.

How are you finding the PSVR experience playing with glasses?
From what I can see it's the only headset that doesn't allow for custom prescription lenses.

No issues whatsoever. It was the one thing that was worrying me about trying VR in general. I'm longsighted and quite heavily so.
I'm already impressed by PSVR (but haven't tried out the Move controllers yet, they come next week), can't wait to see what a full fat Index experience is like.

Good to hear. Most new headsets seem to be quite glasses friendly, as long as the glasses aren't of the enormous / hipster type. I reckon it might be worth installing prescription lenses purely for the potential FOV increase tho, even if it's just a couple of degrees. And comfort is still a factor.
Not an insignificant upcost at 100-150€, but probably worth it, if you use your headset regularly.

As I've said, they don't make them for PSVR. Maybe there are others that do, but I doubt it. Just wasn't made with such a feature in mind.
Search 'vr prescription lenses' on YT to see how the whole thing works with Oculus / Vive headsets. Ez pz, the only negative is that the person you're sharing your headset with would have to go through the process of taking them off and putting them back on every time they use it.
I'm sorry Cavalo, but nobody put a gun to your head. Far as we know.

Beat Sabre, Tetris Effect and Statik also acquired.
I got RE7 with the bundle but I'm prolly too much of a coward to try that.

I have had my Quest for about a month now, and I love it to pieces, my gaming PC is good enough to use it as a psuedo Rift. I don't see myself getting a new console anytime soon, this has been a great substitute.

From one or two videos / reviews of it I saw it looked ... definitely usable as such, but less than ideal.

man wish they'd get off the dildo and remake Saga.

Liking HL:A, wish it was as interactive as Boneworks but the step up in graphical fidelity is well worth that trade off.
I wish ammo was on the hip instead of over the shoulder too. Feels weird reaching around my head for a mag when pretty much every other game has it on the hip.

The lighting in HL:A is fucking incredible. Especially the flashlight sections. The shotgun is also equally incredible.

It's proper cummy. So glad I bought the Riift S when I did for this. Don't think I would have if I left it a month or two more given the pandemic we're in and all.
Surprisingly (for me anyway) there's a bigger focus on the horror aspects. Not just jump scares either, the whole mood is grim. Navigating pitch black underground tunnels with the flashlight and having to fight multiple headcrabs and zombies that you can only see with said flashlight.
Really liking the encounter design too, they're tense and feel well thought out. There's always resources around to take advantage of in the midst of a fight.
The headcrabs actually feel threatening too. Like they're not mechanically threatening at all since they're easy to dodge and easy to kill but they FEEL like a threat when they're approaching you and when they leap at you. The animations and detail of them is top notch.

Gah, everything I expected from Valve. Almost annoyed that a new VR "next gen" headset was headset was announced at around the same time the game was released.

The HP one?
Edit: I’d recommend just going the cheap and cheerful route for a first headset. You don’t know how well you’ll tolerate VR induced motion sickness or the eye strain it could cause, so you don’t want to spend a lot on something that you may feel so uncomfortable using that it turns into an expensive paperweight.
I’m lucky in regards to the motion sickness like I said in a previous post, but I do get some eye strain so I can only play for about hour at most without a decent break. Probably because I need glasses like, but still.
Then once you tried it and know how comfortable playing in VR is for you, look to upgrading to a better headset in the same way you’d treat upgrading your GPU.
