it sounds like he's just generally in a shitty situation, and that that's probably the best solution? If it were me I'd try using disposable wipes for my hands, but if the environment is a big deal im not sure what other options there are

I get eczema when the weather gets colder, mostly on the sides of my hands but never bad enough that the skin cracks. My father is dark skin and gets it on his wrists and it's harder for him to get rid of it, lotion doesn't really help much, most of the people in my family that have it are darker.
Bidets take like 5 mins to install, it's better than having shit gloves just out in plain view.
