By Pennywise Go To PostKeto sounds like the worst type of diet for me. I'm quite a picky eater and nearly everything I actually love and eat is part of keto. Exception are veggies and meat (I only eat beef and every once in a while a bit of pork. Chicken only on rare occassions).
Leaving out bread, rice, potatoes, pasta? No chance.
Good luck with it though.
Wish luck to Fender. I'm adding carbs back tomorrow... though probably keeping it under 100g per day.
Seriously ... keto easy af now. So many recipe and substitutes.

By Fenderputty Go To PostChipotle is great for keto. Wingstop. Jersey mikes does their subs in a tub.My gf did cauliflower pizza crust once, I was really suprised how good it was.
Mission has a low carb tortilla. Look into edamame pasta. I even found a low carb pizza crust.
Lots of snacks and sweets available with sugar alcohols. Shits easy now
Bailed out when she did the tuna pizza crust. Not a fish guy.

Wait a month first and your body should maintain small ketogenic abilities. Modified keto.
Lost 70 pounds in 3.5 months last year. Put 25 back on. Going back on to lose 40-50 now.
By Fenderputty Go To PostWait a month first and your body should maintain small ketogenic abilities. Modified keto.I know the progress is pretty damn fast. The thing is, once you've reached your target to stick with it. I wouldn't be able to do it with Keto.

So I rather do it slowly by cutting calories on a decent level and combine it with sports, while eating what I enjoy and getting more healthy stuff in.

You missed the part where I said I don't cook.

Yeah it’s a diet for me as well. That being said I combined Keto with intermittent fasting and built up some better habit through those 3.5 months.

We talking Psy tier here?

Unless it's microwaving something or reheating pizza in the oven, I might cook once every 6 months.
Given that I eat out virtually all the time, I see a clear pathway to a low carb diet, but not a no carb diet. That said, I do wonder if I already reached ketosis. I was already basically doing IF as it was, given one meal a day and basically one snack a few hours before, and I fasted Saturday (anticipating large meal Sunday, and Sunday wasn't high on carbs [but I did eat rice]), cut out carbs Monday (after the midday snack, prior to meal), and ate fuck all yesterday and today. On top of that, my piss smells like popcorn.
But I've tried to get over to Walmart each of the past 2 days to buy some ketones test strips, but they were sold out (showed in stock online, at least yesterday).
By Lunatic Go To PostThose strips are pretty useless if you really want to know get a blood test.
There were 2 brands that showed up in stock locally... one was actually from Slimfast, I think, but they reviewed poorly, citing poor quality (compared to opinions of personal physicians). The other had more reviews and reviewed fairly well, so that's the one I looked to find. I wasn't looking for an exact science, but was curious.
Lots of sandwich places will turn them into a salad. If there Mediterranean around you can sometimes do tbat. I have a place that I leave out the rice and basically do a Gyro salad with extra olives and this garlic cream sauce. You can do Poke if you stick to the spicy mayo and leave out the crab salad.
I snack on almonds.
I have an Atkins bar for sweet cravings.
Costco has a lot of pre-made meals. There’s a pre-made carnitas they have tbats really good. Add avocado, low carb tortilla, sour cream and cheese. Like 5 minutes of microwave time.

Ah, Fender. A week back on keto and you're a missionary. Bless you, humble servant. ;)
(Also, I do not care for avocado, sour cream, and definitely not cheese.)

They work until you’re “keto adjusted”. Then they’re trash. They’re always inaccurate. They will accurately let you know when you’ve just started keto though.

I got into a competition at work for biggest body fat % loss in 3 months. I’m focused. Pot is up to $1500 and because of my 6’9” frame my resting metabolic rate is like 2570 calories so with IF and Keto I can shed fast.
Focused lol

Flag on the play, loss of down.
By Pac-12 Go To PostIt's enough for that morning but how the hell are you supposed to get through the rest of the week like that.

Oh. Well, there you go, problem solved. Ish.
My day off routine still involves stops at Starbucks. (I brew my own while working from home. Of course, it's a Starbucks or Seattle's Best [owned by Starbucks] blend...)
Confession to make. I don't think I've ever even had avacodo. But the appearance of it, and of guacomole, makes me say hell no. Reminds me of the appearance and consistency of a nasty substance I saw in a nightmare as a kid. Can't do it, won't do it.
The other shit I said I didn't like, I legitimately do not like. I get so goddamn mad when pizza places do not honor it when I say "light cheese" on the order, or do not give me the option of choosing just mozzarella as opposed to those rank blended cheeses. They smell and taste so disgusting. A little mozzarella to hold the other toppings on, that's acceptable. More than that, fuck off.

By Fenderputty Go To PostYou can’t even call yourself a liberal if you haven’t had avocado toast
Correction: I can't call myself a millennial. Which is convenient, since I'm not.
By Fenderputty Go To PostI stand by my statement. You’re basically a Fox News viewer
This isn't the year 2000. This is an outrage! I demand justice!
(Sidebar: This is where I pat myself on the back for escaping the conservative media bubble during the second term of W, which really started when DY's boy Rush Limbaugh was busted for crimes related to pain killers and continued through to when I discovered that private health insurance actually was shit (circa 2007), fortunately without having my own personal health incident. Since then, my political views have trended further and further left.)

You’re missing out on the avocado. A nice ripe avocado roughly smashed to fuck with a fork, little salt and pepper. Perfect to spread on toast.
The consistency is similar to mushy peas. Even the taste is, just a lot fresher.
By Laboured Go To PostI somehow feel like a bad person for wanting one.
This is the invention college kids have been wanting for decades.
Generally speaking, if you're mushing avocado up, you're putting it on something that counterbalances the texture. Toast, Chips, etc etc. If I'm eating avocado straight up, I don't mash it. Slice it, put some lemon and salt on it and man is it fucking bomb.
By Lunatic Go To PostSounded like you had been eating a bit too much.
Yes. It did sound like tbat didn’t it
