By Smokey Go To PostThe Sun is going to swallow everything from Mercury to Mars in 7 billion or so years anyway
Right around the corner
5, and probably not to Mars
but all life on Earth will be gone within the next billion, as the sun gets brighter and brighter and therefore burns hotter and boils off all of our oceans
then, of course, there's also the eventual end of plate tectonics, and then eventually also the earth's magnetic field.
let's assume we* (not us, we'll all be dead) survive all this and get off the planet, there's still the eventual death of the universe either as all stars burn out and the universal temperature plummets to absolute zero... or there's also the chance that expansion fueled by dark energy eventually tears all matter to pieces and we* (still not us, still already dead) are annihilated that way.

Yeah earth will be Venus #2 long before the Sun swallows it. The end of the universe is soo long away it's almost meaningless to ponder in this context. Same with most contexts honestly, including the sun or earth's eventual turning into Venus. Humanity only been around for 50K years. Most impactful have been the last 500 or and probably the last 150 or so honestly.

Last human colonies can still rally around Red Dwarfs, they burn so dimly compared to normal stars their life span is in the trillions, so we'll probably be engaged in some sort of celestial war against aliens (who turned out to be just a crazy mutational off-shoot of humanity) to set up shop around the last red dwarfs.

Dad brutally beats North Carolina man accused of molesting his kids, Virginia cops say
A man from North Carolina is behind bars after he was accused of molesting two young children over the holidays, according to the sheriff’s office.
But not before their father took matters into his own hands.
Mark Stanley, 60, was found with “severe injuries to his face” when deputies with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office in Virginia interrupted what they called a “chaotic scene” on Dec. 29. Another man with a handgun was “quickly approaching” him when law enforcement arrived.

Yea, that shit is crazy.
Down the street. Lived around here pretty much my whole life and grew up in the poor parts of Huntsville, so I've been seeing the craft beerification of the city since day 1.
