Ya know … it sounds insane to us, but these people up there in space could die at any moment from a large sun flair or random space dust flying through that same tin can. They probably lose like 5 years of their lives each time they go up from radiation exposure too lol.

You'd think that a bad spin or some misread distance would've led to a few broken ribs or something more often.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_in_space
n June 2015, Pornhub announced its plans to make the first pornographic film in space. It launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the effort, dubbed Sexploration, with the goal of raising $3.4 million in 60 days. The campaign only received pledges for $236,086. If funded, the film would have been slated for a 2016 release, following six months of training for the two performers and six-person crew.[18][19][20][21] Though it claimed to be in talks with multiple private spaceflight carriers, the company declined to name names "for fear that that would risk unnecessary fallout" from the carriers.[18] A Space.com article about the campaign mentioned that in 2008, Virgin Galactic received and rejected a $1 million offer from an undisclosed party to shoot a sex film on board SpaceShipTwo.[19]
Adult film actress CoCo Brown had begun certifying for a co-pilot seat in the XCOR Lynx spaceplane, which would have launched in a suborbital flight in 2016 and spent a short amount of time in zero-gravity.[22] However, XCOR declared bankruptcy before ever flying a space tourist.[23]
Short of actual space, the adult entertainment production company Private Media Group has filmed a movie called The Uranus Experiment: Part Two where an actual zero-gravity intercourse scene was accomplished by flying an airplane to an altitude of 11,000 feet (3350 meters) and then doing a steep dive. The filming process was particularly difficult from a technical and logistical standpoint. Budget constraints allowed for only one 20-second shot, featuring the actors Sylvia Saint and Nick Lang.[24] Berth Milton, Jr, president and CEO of Private Media Group, says "You would not want to be afraid of flying, that's for sure!"[25]

Interesting.
It's pretty disheartening honestly. That and that recent finding with the twins and long time space exposure.
By Daz Go To PostYou gotta ask yourself if we were ever meant to leave this earth?
I think so. Leaving earth is the only way to ensure the species carries on and I think this is likely the same problem for many forms of intelligence across the universe.
TBH, the moment humans started bending their environment around them to suit their needs, is the moment most natural evolution stopped for us as a species. At some point our intellect will be our shortcoming. We'll be relying on AI to help us solve problems or we'll become cyborgs or some shit
Zero G causes bone degradation.
Space is full of 10 types of radiation
no friction means meteors the size of a grain of sand can become shrapnel that can tear metal apart.
Being in that inky black void for so long, lord knows what that can do the mind.
Anything close to a habitable world is trillions of miles away - a trip on our fastest vessels would take thousands of years. The species that left the earth won't be the same that arrived on Proxima Centauri or that Avatar planet.

Yeah.. The only real "un-solvable" issue I see is time. Unless we figure out how to harness the energy needed to bend space time a la Event Horizon, we aint getting anywhere fast. We'll become a splintered species or some borg like hivemind where our consciousnesses have been uploaded to robots that travel the universe.

Even if you did terraform Mars, there's no magnetic field to keep us safe. Total waste of time.

On the surface it is
Although there is little possibility of existing life near the surface of Venus, the altitudes about 50 km above the surface have a mild temperature, and hence there are still some opinions in favor of such a possibility in the atmosphere of Venus.[6][7]

We need to leave the system - time to go interstellar.

We'll colonize a moon on Titan or Mars before we go interstellar. Even if they're not permanent solutions as both have their issues. They're going to be testing grounds.
Titan has a lot of natural resources we need to survive and most importantly, falls within Saturn's magnetosphere so we're protected for solar radiation. There's even water below the surface and another ICE moon of Saturn's really close by for harvesting. Downfall to Titan is gravity.
Mars has shit magnetosphere and resources comparatively, but it's gravity is a lot closer to earths.
By Smokey Go To PostIts float on Venus, terraform Mars, or relocate to Saturns moons

If in 50 years we have that Ion drive down and functional, we will be able to reach 90+ percent of the speed of light. Trips would take generations, but we could indeed be interstellar by end of the century.
