The whole culling game was just a bad idea from the moment the rules were laid out

By Lunatic Go To PostNah you bugginMaki = trash. Both mini arcs focused on her are the lowest points of the entire series 🤷♂️
I could forgive the 1st one since Gege's body fell apart and had to take a month off. The 2nd one? Putrid.
Real #bestgirl pls stand up 🥺

This.
Funny when you think about it. Miguel is one of the strongest characters in the entire story. Fought Gojo for 30 minutes, didn't die or get mutilated. Makes sense Gege called him the MVP.

Holy fuck this OP is really fucking cool. Tengoku Daimakyou/Heavenly Delusion has everything going for it right now.
Episode 2 was fucking stacked as well.

Weilin Zhang directed, AD'd, storyboarded, composited and provided Key animation for the OP. Is he ven 20 years old yet? Wtf
JJK 219(anime onlies don't read)
A couple positives: despite Tsumiki/Yorozu being another worthless plot device character(who happened to be another man obsessed woman ). The idea of doing your ultimate move, then constructing a Domain Expansion around it, in order to make it impossible to dodge is such a cool application of the power system. It also finally explains what Hanami's Domain Expansion was with the flower beam vs Todo/Yuji. It's clear that Gege has put the most thought into cursed energy than anything else.
Also, using a rare circular panel to show Sukuna exiting the DE through the shadow with Majora rising into it was fucking sick. The wheel halo is broken but I'm glad that apparently only Makora benefits from the adaptability.
I just pray Sukuna's downfall isn't tied to Megumi waking up or whatever, that would be so lame.
Overall though? This 3 chapter excursion was entirely unnecessary and emblematic of Gege's worse writing traits. The idea of Sukuna needing to do all this to suppress Megumi just didn't even need to be a thing. Tsumiki, the motivation for the protags this entire time, dies without us ever getting a single line of dialogue actually from her. Maybe there was a way to frame this as being devastating or tragic, maybe it is lost mistranslation but as it stands, is ass. I liked a lot of the art, especially the paneling. I'm just grateful that it was only 3 chapters and didn't drag on with multiple breaks like the Culling Games shit.
The manga has been legit good again since January, and unsurprisingly that's when we went back to Yuji after a year of mostly bullshit. JJK is at its best when the lead is in the driver's seat and I wish Gege's editor told him that.
edit: Let me ramble for a bit. The anime needs to pull an Attack on Titan when it gets to season 3. Cut, rearrange and basically edit the fuck out the Culling Games. It can be good but the structure in the manga was ass and Gege's editor went missing. I recently re-read it, binging it made it better but there are still a ton of things I'd change, off the top of my head:

I recently re-read it, binging it made it better but there are still a ton of things I'd change, off the top of my head:
-In the manga, they intro'd Hajime, comedian and the Lawyer before any character entered the games. For the anime, show all of them, including katana/sumo dudes and Naoya's revival. That will make them seem less like plot devices and lessen impact of the contrivances/asspulls during Maki's mini-arc.What do you think @eldritch?
-Make it a real battle royale, switch POVs and don't linger on a single fight until it's completion.
-Gege framed the timing when each character entered the colonies appear like it mattered but didn't really take advantage of it to any effect. idk, he kinda did the same shit in Shibuya.
-Yuta went in first, show his fight first. Switch POVs to Yuji when they do the triple domain expansion.
-Yuji vs Higuruma was the only fight in the entire culling game that was actually good in more ways than just choreo. Focus on this unitl Yuji wins and they sit down
-Back to Yuta, when he's about to win, have Yuji make the rule change.
-Fast forward the fuck out of Megumi getting his ass beat by Potted Plant Reggie(who told Megumi to die like a clown lmao).
-Make that Hakari fight one episode max. Half an episode if possible .If there was any fight that made it clear that JJK no longer had an editor, it was this one. Scust.
-Cut back to Yuki and Choso chilling with Tengen throughout all of this.
Fuck yeah. Loved that chapter. Maybe seen the two most powerful attacks in the whole series the last two chapters.
Although I guess this means that Garp will most likely die by Blackbeard. Been thought for awhile that it would happen. I know people think Shanks will die too at his hands. These last two chapters might be setting up to show just how strong they are before Blackbeard shows how much he has grown and will be Luffy’s toughest opponent.

It's such a small detail, but the use of reflections in today's chapter of Sakamoto is so clean.
As much as I liked the Maki stuff, you're on point. I think what you highlighted is what makes JJK so frustrating to get through at times. Cool ideas and concepts are introduced and they're either meandered on, or Gege decides to speedrun through it. The flow is all over the place at points, and it's usually when the story isn't focused on Yuji, and to a lesser extent, Maki. Although, admittedly, a little to much time was spent on her fight against misogyny.
The domain shit that Yorozu pulled off today was dope af, but ultimately, it feels hollow as hell. Not only did Tsumiki not do a damn thing, the entire manga (literally), but I just saw this exact crazy shit happen with Kenny and the Black Hole, and Hana getting bodied (three peat). Doesn't help that she ended up being yet another, I have run out of ideas for the ladies, now that I've said patriarchy is bad, looking ass character. Back to back, at the at.
Ngl, I hope the studio does do some rearranging when they get to season 3.
I know it would fuck with the pacing, but I hope we get something amazing out of the US Military vs Cursed Spirits, in the anime. I would have traded some panels from the gacha fight, to get more of that.

Agreed. Shit even, some of the barrier nonesense in Shibuya can be glazed over in the upcoming season.

Insomniacs After School's anime started today. I really enjoy the manga and I doubt the anime will compare. It looks pretty cheap.
Tatsu is amazing. This is a weekly manga(Dandadan) ffs!

insane. that one splash on the bottom would absolutely take me a month. even if I was working downton abbey staff hours like these guys
The whole series is just a love letter to sci fi and ghost shit with the main plot being a romantic comedy between the two MCs. With just ridiculous art. Currently, The Aliens™ pulled up with a xenomorph + a metal gear. Protags got bodied.
But yeah the art is just so damn good:
I will say, the fanservice in chapter one is ridiculous. But it gets dropped pretty quickly. Just a fun series. There is one arc that just dragged on too long for my tastes.

Oshi No Ko's first episode is out. Been getting a lot of praise. It's an adaptation of Aka Akasaka(Kaguya-Sama)'s ongoing manga. It's not a RomCom

The first episode is movie length, so be prepared. It's great though.

Yuta is cold as ice for asking if she could just switch bodies. lmao

My only questions, at this point, are if Suletta is a clone, and what exactly killed Miorine's mother, considering she's apart of the Quiet Zero shit with Delling.
I don't think Prospera wanted what happened to her daughter to happen, but she's clearly detached and lost it. Her other daughter being a literal Gundam and a remorseless killer is insane.
