A few more minutes till a new chapter.
I hope it gives us the name of the next island.
Half of me wants it to be and not want it to be Elbaf. Short arc with Luffy recruiting the Giants, plus bring Usopp character arc to an end. .

Surprised by how much it looks like Akuduma Drive. Must share the same DP. Wish they wouldn't ruin the effects work with those textures tho.

That chapter was not anywhere close to what I was expecting.
So much went on there and everything felt so well done.
I am currently a bit speechless.

omfg...why...
This fight didn't need to drag on longer. Could have just let Maki cook and been done with it.
She's new Toji. Point been made.
Of course this clown ass character has a domain expansion. I don't begin to understand why he was ever popular.
Yuji or Yuta need to show up and end this, frfr.

want to do a replay but also want to wait for the DLC/big mods ;_;
[edit]leaving my shame. Wrong thread :o
1st two episodes of Cyberpunk Edgerunners was fun. Think I'll hold off until tonight so I can check out the Japanese dub for episode 3.
Visually, it's about what I expected from Trigger. Some really nice layouts and drawings in episode 1, especially the scene where David gets rekt by his classmate.
Episode 2 was predictably weaker(visually), the highlight animation wise was the stretcher sequence. Some of the closeup drawings of Lucy were nice too plus the general art direction, strong compositing work and background art make up for it.
Yuuto Kaneko is helming episode 3 so I'm expecting that to be better than the 1st.

By Laboured Go To PostWhere are they up?CDPR broadcasted a few episodes on their twitch channel. The first VOD contains episode 1 and 2.
Cyberpunk episode 6 whewwwww.
Edit: yep, this was Kai Ikarashi's Ichigo Kanno's episode(animation director, storyboard and key animation)

Also the subs(jpn dub) are some of the worst I've seen from Netflix. It's baffling how bad it is, they have access to the script right?
Wrong words, punctuations errors, and more. Even in the in-world lingo gets fucked up in the subtitles. "Saka"(shorthand for Arasaka) turns into "Sucker", if Maine says "dawg", the subs say "Doug".
Recommend the English dub.
If you really want Japanese dubbing, you'll have to torrent the series so you can rip the English subs(from the English dub) file. Why does Netflix use two different sets of English subtitles? Who fucking knows.

Oh that’s because people don’t pick the right subs if there’s two titles. Squid Games is a good example. The closed captions were auto played with a more stripped down captioning. The translation stuff is different and better on the regular subs.
Damn. I ended up really enjoying Edgerunners.
I need to boot up Cyberpunk, so I can kill Adam Smasher, again. That fella needs to die two and three more times for the shit that happened in the anime. Bring him back, in DLC, so I can kill him like he's Dracula, or some shit.

By the end of Cyberpunk I was a tank and destroyed that fucker in a matter of seconds. Was reading the other place and people were talking about how hard he was and I was like bruh I had over 5K armor
Edgerunners was so fucking good, went way beyond my expectations. They did a really good job matching the setting of the game and using the soundtrack was genius.
ending was fitting for the Cyberpunk world. this is a depressing franchise :(

By Daz Go To PostWill Edgerunners spoil the game in any way?
Not had time to play it yet.
nope. it's set before the game and has a few cameos from it, that's all.
Finished it. Enjoyed it a lot.
As an adaptation, it was great. I recognized so many rooms, streets, and locations from the game. iirc they basically painted over screenshots for the background art. I also really liked how they incorporated so much of the actual game UI as well. Seeing Lucy do Breach Protocol or hacking cameras was very neat. It just made me appreciate the game and Night City more, I don't think an adaptation can ask for much more.
Visually, it's mostly what I expected from Trigger and Imaishi. Very well made, action was explosive with a couple "Sakuga moments" per episode. It was actually a bit more conservative than I thought it'd be, I guess that's due to Trigger(thankfully) not handling the writing. It's no Mob(nothing is tbf) but episode 6? It's definitely up there. What I found more impressive is how Trigger was able to keep composite/lighting/shadows consistent with the strong neon art direction without over-correcting the drawings to match the model sheets(which I hate about Demon Slayer).
The idiosyncrasy of hand drawn animation is what I love most about the medium. Characters looking entirely different from scene to scene is why episode 6 looks as good as it does. You can see Kai Ikarashi's and Ichigo Kanno(animation directors for that episode) touch on damn near every drawing, which don't look anything like the model sheets.
I could list all the issues I had but the biggest one being the weak character interactions and development. David's mom exposition guilt dumping for 2 minutes before dying was hilarious, David falling in love and hopping on the Lucy-to-the-Moon dream after 1 episode was also weak. Lucy, in general lol. It all makes the first half much weaker than the last 5 episodes. I get that they wanted to establish shit as fast as possible but I think it all could have been handled better, even with the 10 episode count.
Show peaked hard at episode 6 but 7-10 were also better than 1-5 so I wouldn't say it fell off or anything. Can't blame em though, episode 6 is one of the best episodes of anything this year.
S/N: During the premier stream, CDPR said they actually didn't want Rebecca because of her loli design but Trigger vetoed it lmao

Word on the street is that Shanks will need a new pair of pants when he read the new one piece chapter on Sunday

Just got there. Good shit
By Patriotism Go To PostPleasantly surprised that it wasn't terrible at all but actually very good. Great companion to the cyberpunk world.

yup got me itching to do another playthrough of the game.
Oda is really edging the One Piece fanbase now. Three chapters in a row where he teases major story/world changing developments, but doesn't actually reveal anything.
Yeah I did not need that music.
-----------
On Cyberpunk I'm up to ep 8 and I'm enjoying it for sure. Making it really hard for me to hold off on a proper playthrough.

game is good do it. Trust me.
I just ran a benchmark with everything maxed on a 3080ti and think it might have to be the game to christen my 4090 with.

Just remember it's a video game and not real so Panam is fair game. Don't care what the wife says
