Yea the entire series was a pleasant surprise which is why I was so happy that the anime turned out so good and got the production it deserved.

Its wholesome as fuck. And then the world is presented in a way that's basically "yeah, these are still diabolical monsters - but there's a great view over that next hill" so it all flows well and weights everything appropriately.
One of the best things I've read this year.
Mappa actually made that feel even more diabolical than it did in the manga. Wow.

Yea that JJK episode was a lot more chaotic and exciting than the manga. They extended the fuck out of Choso's appearance.

I just love how even tho you know the old guy has memory problems, the shot lingers long enough on Frieren's face to make an, "oh shit" moment, when he tells her about needing to kill the demon king.
Such a perfect adaptation of that conversation.

Great JJK finale. Think the culling games will work better animated, 2025/6 can't come soon enough. God I hope they can keep Gosso as the showrunner/director.

Culling games is def gonna be crazy in anime format...especially with all of the additions that they make. Hell, even the extra scenes in the finale did a lot of lifting, in terms of tone. Lol

I still have a lot of problems with Gege's writing (in general, but especially in that arc), but it does feel better when you can read the Culling Games all at once, as opposed to reading it weekly / biweekly. Which...is a problem in and of itself, but yea.
I just need Maki vs the crazy 88 and King misogynist to get the proper time needed.
