Crazy One Piece is still such a beast.

By s y Go To PostOnly a couple eps in but the digital compositing in Pluto is so unfortunately poor, especially in regards to the effects animation. Jarring stock afterfx explosion loops, excessive motion blur, you name it. Ugly at its best, completely masks the animation at worst.

Man, Mahito is the greatest antagonist of the series by a light year
The sakkan/AD had to redraw the fuck out of all that but the movement is good.
No offense to his work at all but it's a good example of why ADs are basically saving episodes and also why some complain about the lack of draftsmanship from younger and foreign animators.
The workload is crazy. almost every frame was entirely redrawn, especially Yuji's expressions a d Nobara's entire head:
Even in an episode today's where there multiple spectacle scenes, there were so many weak drawings.
On the flip side, the Miwa sequence handled by some of the best young talent working today looked INCREDIBLE.
