Lundon arc is basically Assassins Creed 2 and i just imagined playing Ezio all over again, in Eivor's shoes!
Bloody loved it!

By DY_nasty Go To PostAnd I'll give Everspace a chance but I don't think people understand how good Freespace 2 was. Its like trying to give other RTS games a shot after playing Brood War at release. Literally too good.I feel you. The FS2 total conversion Diaspora was the last time I felt anything similar. Even though it's something completely different I do admit I enjoyed Battlefront's space dogfights. Still need to check out Squadrons.
Squadrons is pretty much as good as you can ask for considering what it is. Its a far better VR game than it is standard as well. Shocked that EA decided to reverse stance and continue supporting it too.
But yeah..... FS2 just did too many things at levels far above everything else. The closest thing to it is 'maybe' Ace Combat in some regards.

Man.
I really want a Sekiro sequel more than anything else from From. Put Elden Ring on hold and get on it. What a fucking game, maaaaaaaan.

we're evidently dealing with a company that does not care about sales nor doing sequels anymore.
Sy, I'm weak. Saw the PC version on sale, so I copped DMC5, to play it (again) as Vergil. lmao.
I know somebody has done a no hit run, on the higher difficulties. This man Vergil has I-frames out of the ass. Teleport remains OD.
Also copped the HD collection. Played myself. Should have copped the definitive version of DMC3 for the fam's Switch.

Fuser is definitely my GOTY. Was doing a freestyle session tonight while my sister was watching and she said "that game is definitely made for you".
I completely zone out while playing, only did the first stage of the campaign, I mostly just want to do freestyle, auto fill the crate with songs and see what I can do with the songs that are chosen.
Their engine must have some dark magic behind it, it can't just be auto adjust the beat and key.
I'll definitely going to be supporting the game for a while, already bought 6 or 7 DLC songs besides having bought the VIP edition with the 25 launch pack songs.
Actually streamed the game to my laptop yesterday just keep grinding XP being listening to mixes sent for the weekly event so I could unlock all the songs that I wanted.

staying strong though, should be $20 in no time.

By Zabojnik Go To PostHow dare you not submit to the genius of japanese combat system designs?Square square triangle is all that is needed. Seems like you never played Arkham in 60fps.
Never knew that was a thing. Obvious as daylight, it's currently sold out in Germany.
Forgive my ignorance, but who are the Britons? I thought the Saxons evolved into Britons along with the invaders/settlers of the land after the we fact.
Valhalla had them as 2 separate groupings.

Still got to play it sooner than console lads got to play 2019's PC game of the year, Disco Elysium. Bottom line we simply can't lose.

Britons were around in Britain well before the Saxons arrived. I *think* they were the Celtic tribes that the Romans fought against when invading England but I'm not totally sure. But yeah, Saxons came after Romans, Britons before.

Truly nothing encapsulated 2020 better than Death Stranding winning a GOTY award lmao

By Yurtlicious Go To PostZabo talk to me about PathlessI'm only a couple of hours in, just defeated the first boss and cleared the first location. Liking it. So far I'd describe it as a heavily compressed BOTW - similar aesthetic, the starting plateau had like a dozen POIs with simple but enjoyable puzzles / shrines that involve your bow and your hawk companion, which is able to fetch weights that go on Zelda-like switches. The hawk is also your gliding aid and can enhance your jumps by propelling you up in the air, multiple times even, which lets you reach higher places. Kind of a counterpart to BOTWs climbing.
Game looks very nice overall and downright gorgeous at times. Posted some screenshots in the appropriate thread.
So far it's looking like the perfect in-between game.

Maybe Japanese devs should develop their cell shading style because the one bad thing about FF7 visuals is that sometimes it goes from anime to real life K Pop and.., it’s not good when that happens.

Was looking at The Pathless last night. Been so burned by "short" games over the past year like Outer Wilds and Rime and Journey that I didn't pull the trigger. Looks OK though

Well excited for Hitman 3.
Haven't played any of the recent ones, so I'm looking forward to how much more advanced it is compared to the old entries.

Finally beat Cold Steel 3
This went from being an interesting little series to Anime: The Game. Even Kojima wonders how he could get away with so many cutscenes and absurdly complicated plot lines. Gonna knock out CS4 and remind myself of pain.

I can't really say since, yeno, I haven't played it yet. What really is GOTY material though? Like when you get down to the nitty and gritty of it, beyond the awards and all that shite. On a personal level, it's the just the best game you've played in a 12 month period.
Last year, I played some really great games, but the one that really topped it for me was surprisingly a game I went from
To
Over the course of playing it, and that was Mafia III.
By all rights, it was a pretty mediocre open world TPS, and yet it was something that on the whole I just thoroughly enjoyed. Despite being a large departure from Mafia 1/2, and having played both those prior to it. I was really drawn into the world of New Bordeaux, and into the world of Lincoln Clay. It's a game I honestly didn't want to end, and yet once it did end I felt completely satisfied with the entire experience.
DLC included, I loved all it. The cheesiness of Faster, Baby. The LA Noire-esque and paranormal aspects of Sign of the Times. The bombastic and over the top nature of Stones Unturned. Even though the latter was the weakest and most incompatible in terms of tone to the main story, it was an enjoyable romp of sneaking and shooting through an island of baddies and it was truly a fun experience.
Once it was all over, like almost every great game, it left me wanting to play it all over again as the core gameplay loop had me well and truly hooked. I didn't go forward with it, but it's definitely a game I will return to in the future as I have done with it's predecessors over the years.
To call that my 2020 GOTY, over games that I also truly adored my time with, such as Doom Eternal, Half Life: Alyx, Mafia Remake, Black Mesa, Spelunky 2, and especially after dumping 400+ hours into Binding of Issac and 100%ing it in 2020. It skews my perspective on what is or can be "GOTY material".
To me at least. It's not about whatever I played the most of, what came out within that year, what was mechanically the best, what had the best story etc. It's whatever game I played within that year that I felt was an experience that will stick with me going forwards, something that I will look back on fondly over the years to come. To that extent, I feel any game could be "GOTY material" to me.
Tekken 8? AAA One PIece game? Yakuza competitor?
Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada is preparing a new title with the largest development cost in company history, Harada said during the “Piro Live! New Year’s Eve Special 2021” live stream.
“Well, honestly I think this might be the most costly development project in Bandai Namco history,” Harada said. “I think its incredible that the higher-ups approved of this. Well, the approval has passed, its just that due to the coronavirus, we haven’t really been able to properly start the project.”
