By Pennywise Go To PostIt was the typical Bioware reveal.
CGI trailer and the game is still few years off.
and back to old characters, for some ez nerd hype and cause they know they cant make new ones that are any good. Inch of allah.
Pretty crazy that PS5 is simultaneously the largest launch for a console in history and also maybe the hardest to buy. I kind of assumed it was a small launch considering covid affecting factories and being impossible to find

Factories are running pretty good, but there's just a huge demand with corona.
Doesn't help that you've also got more and more scalpers.
Think people underestimate how big of a success the PS4 is. Software numbers are crazy. Sony said they wouldn't be able to meet demand despite having a bigger launch, I guess it's believable now.
By rodeoclown Go To PostJeff Grubb says Perfect Dark isn't episodic. Xbox Era wrong again. Why do people pay that place any attention, have they ever got anything right?
i'm really surprised sony somehow has a lot more consoles shipped WW.
with how early MS revealed their console and sent it to press i assumed they were in a good place but they shipped less than xbox one's which had a tiered launch. how?

Xbox seemed just as sold out here as the PS5, it's easily possible they just didn't/couldn't make enough
By DiPro Go To Posti'm really surprised sony somehow has a lot more consoles shipped WW.They started production later, they had their biggest console launch ever worldwide, there was less stock for the US because they had almost 3 times the number of countries launching on day 1 than the Xbox One.

By Pedja Go To PostWhy do people pay that place any attention, have they ever got anything right? No, and they weren't even right about Perfect Dark being third-person, either, since it was explicitly announced as an FPS. I don't think they have any credibility at all.
By DiPro Go To Posti'm really surprised sony somehow has a lot more consoles shipped WW.They had a good reason to reveal their console early. The also did it well, because XSX became the talk for months. That DF teardown was basically PR since they since came out and said that it only started production later than the PS5.

God, so much you can detail about how MS handled things.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostThey started production later, they had their biggest console launch ever worldwide, there was less stock for the US because they had almost 3 times the number of countries launching on day 1 than the Xbox One.in terms of sales yes, xbox one wasn't sold out in most places at launch, i'm talking about shipped. i'm in a tier 2 country were stores got filled with excess stock from germany, france and italy. it wasn't officially available but every store had stacks full of them.
i think they might've shipped less WW total but i'm not sure.
By jjasper Go To PostLuckily MS has the software lined up to keep people interested through 2021…They apparently have unannounced titles for next year. Forza Horizon 5 seems a good bet and that's their biggest franchise these days.
It really is going to be 2022/2023 when they finally have a big lineup of games, though.
they will have a good lineup of "eh, it's on gamepass so i'll give it a try" titles which is what they want.
By Daz Go To PostThey've got halo in their back pocket.Halo is still a big deal, for sure. Halo and FH5 next year would be decent enough. Maybe Everwild makes it, too. The rest of their near term lineup depends on publishing deals they've signed and what Bethesda has, though.
Everything is going to be OK.
Internal studios have pretty much all showed their hands. 2022 is probably a big year, with games like Avowed, Age of Empires 4, Hellblade, almost certainly a new Gears.
By DiPro Go To Postthey will have a good lineup of "eh, it's on gamepass so i'll give it a try" titles which is what they want.lol yeah they're adding Code Vein soon I guess it falls under that, and I can still play it with an X1..
By Bungie Go To PostMicrosoft were pretty clear they were waiting on AMD, no?
I believe the whole “waiting for AMD” is open for interpretation and believe there’s maybe a month between them if you go look.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostThat's unlikely. They released in 13 countries in 2013, 41 now.most of those additional markets are tiny (especially for xbox that's why they were tier 2 to begin with). US and UK alone make up the majority of Xbox sales. i'm in one of them and we got a laughable amount of xbox consoles compared to PS5s.
i'd love to see WW shipped numbers but we'll never see them. i'm basing my guess on the data that i have seen
By LFMartins86 Go To PostThat's unlikely. They released in 13 countries in 2013, 41 now.but that's not volume.
By Flutter Go To PostXbox Series sales are as expected.Less than XB1? Phil can't keep getting away with it.
By Daz Go To PostI don't understand, they announced it was their biggest launch. That was early on IIRC, maybe they got their biggest launch day or even week but then it didn’t keep up for the month.
Huge supply constraints tbh.

the numbers in the tweet are npd numbers, so america only.
ms were talking world wide.
I’m surprised Microsoft sold less units of Xbox Series S/X than Xbox One — but I figure it’s because of allocation globally and they probably made less units overall than Sony. It’s strange though because they revealed the Xbox Series X way earlier than Sony revealing the PS5.
