By bud Go To Posthow can you tell that these are daytime shots?
Because of the large amount of natural coloured light coming through large windows (I assume not doorways looking at the map). It may be the guy took the RTX off image at night but he hasn't done that for any of the other images.

windows in basements and corridors. the dystopian future
i see the ray-traced reflections now.
my bad.
but i still think, artistically, the bottom one looks better. moodier. i'm there.
with the top one, all i can think of is... i'd rather play it on a ps5.

oohhhh, i thought those were lights on the other side of the wall we can't see.
i'll go back to playing mgs now.

Some are always going to prefer an artistic interpretation of lighting
I don’t think that’s new, and we’ll probably see more of it (especially when it’s ray tracing you might not be familiar with)

I've seen Bladerunner, it's all about being engulfed in colors.
there's just no way CDPR wanted you to go through that windowless corridor and not think blue

lmao I didnt think there'll be these much discussions for it. I do prefer the non-RTX screenshots though.
However reading reviews, the biggest difference is the effect of the ray traced lighting on character models. Since the game regularly have you close to some of them, it could pretty much make a difference.

The problem with Ray tracing right now is that unless that’s the default during game dev and how artists lit a scene from the beginning, it’s going to change the original look they were going for.

Makes less sense to me that there are just flat white panels but could be (if they were adverts you should be able to see the detail in the reflections).
Horse
There's no window
there's no white panel
there's no sun.
It's the blue neon lights going against their artistic vision

By Lunatic Go To PostIn this thread we learn most people have no idea what ray tracing is.
Most will understand what they’re missing out on when they play it and realise it’s an open world game where you don’t stand in a red or blue hallway the entire time
By Bungie Go To PostGamers need to stop being scared of reality
Avoiding real sunshine to spend the day at a desk looking at fake but realistic, even if artistically diminished, but more physically accurate lighting is peak gamer.
Seems like around Xmas will be the perfect time to jump into CP2077. Waiting a couple of weeks was the right decision when TW3 launched and this looks to be much the same situation. It's basically the standard recommendation for any new open world game these days.
Maybe Cyberpunk will finally humble the typical PC gamer into accepting that they don’t need to run at ultra settings and 200FPS to have an enjoyable experience in a single player game.
60fps is where I draw the line for single player games on PC and I don't mind dropping a setting or three to get there. Luckily it's rare that I need to these days. Can't even remember the last time I had to spend more than 30 seconds in the graphics settings menu. Kinda miss it. It just works.
I guess that'll change when I'll get the 3080 and play in 4K on the OLED. 3440x1440 is relatively easy to drive with decent hardware.

Good things come to those that wait, Yurt.
I guess the irony is that I probably played and finished more games that half the forum combined over the past year or so.

Black Mesa, HL: Alyx, Doom Eternal twice, Mafia 1-3, Binding of Isaac 100%, Quantum Break, Spelunky 2 (once), Lonely Mountains, Ape Out, Tetris Effect, Streets of Rage 4, Plus 50 hours in Fallout 76 post-Wastelanders update.
That’s good going for me. I’ll probably finish off Control before the end of the year too.
Compared to last year, I can only remember playing and finishing DMCV and Disco Elysium. There was probably a couple others too, but nowhere close to this year.

Lmao truly
By cRrusheR Go To PostYou liked Quantum Break? The TV show stuff seemed really off putting.I skipped all that nonsense. The gameplay was good tho, above average for a third person shooter.
In retrospect my biggest gripe with it is that they didn’t make enough shooting sections. It was at its best when you were giving the full arsenal of time abilities and a fairly large arena with a mix of enemy types. Which sadly only happened towards the latter end of a fairly short game.

Perhaps if they had worked harder I would have bought at full price. Food for thought.

So a game reviewer said that Cyberpunk almost caused them seizures due to intense flashing patterns in the game, so of course The Gamers retaliated by sending them seizure inducing videos en masse.

Not even directly because of frame rate, I’ve played it at 60, 120, 144, 240, at 768p, 4K and 1080p on PC, obviously it feels better at higher frame rates, but just in general on PC the input response was dramatically better. The times I went back to playing on PS4 to catch up with the friends I used to play it with daily, the input lag too much for me.
