the quests were too janky to be fun
like, I like the idea of what I'm doing but why the hell is it playing it out like this. Never finished it

By Laboured Go To PostSeems like the Ubi thing was a false alarm fortunately.Like most Ubi games then
I think Skyrim has great replay value, but I also play Skyrim like a maniac, so maybe I shouldn't expect most people to like it the same way.

I'm running a redguard around the place with a big mace and flattening heads. No shield, no spells, and thus far no shouts either
I... uh... I make a different character for each race and gender and roleplay the storylines according to their skills.

There are a lot of mods that expand the perk trees and stuff. If I like a role playing game and the design allows it, I'll try many different builds. 🤷
See that’s Bethesda’s magic at work, you just can’t pull that off in any other modern WRPG like you can in a TES game.
I'm playing FO4 right now. Just finished the main game, now on to Far Harbor.
It's fine. It could've been way better. World building is great, actual role playing is okay-ish, it's got that Bethesda jank that I've grown to love, and it would have been a 6/10 gameat best without all the mods I'm running. CBBE babyyyyy

The next TES game is the first one I'll play to complition, I promise.
Morrowind I could never get into for some reason. I was enjoying Oblivion, but it would randomly crash on the 360 because the drive sometimes just wouldn't spin up, so I dropped it after 20h+ and never went back to it on PC. Also, the difficulty scaling was fucking broken.
Skyrim ... I don't even know. I wasn't feeling it at the time and then it went super mainstream and it seemed like the same crowd of dudebros that plays COD was playing it and I was like ... nahhh. I got as far as installing a couple dozen of mods for it a couple of years back, but then I tried playing it and it felt old and clunky and ugly, despite the mods. Give up on it immediately.
TESVI for sure though. For you, Todd. For Phil. For Smokey.

By Yurtlicious Go To PostSkyrim was so janky that it just felt like Bethesda was genuinely taking the piss
At the time it released, it was the least janky game they had made. It is janky still, but Skyrim improved on a lot of the things that made their prior games feel extra janky. Like actually having a walking/running animation for diagonal movement.
For the sheer scale of Skyrim, I can give Bethesda a pass for not making it as polished as other AAA games.

Combat sucks
Visuals and art suck

Done with Wasteland 3 with 55 hours or so. One of the better 'campaign coop' experiences I've had so far. Lots of things to love about the game, but since the ending is still fresh on my mind ... eh, it was kind of a letdown.
The final fight, to be more specific, which was over in about 2 minutes. I'd like to say it was due to us being overpowered, and we certainly were, but since it was easier than a random world map encounter, it's definitely on the game, not (just) us min-maxing our party to the extreme.
8/10
Think I'm gonna play either Hades or Ghostrunner next. Leaning towards the latter.

By Lunatic Go To PostIf you didn't like Skyrim then something is wrong with your gamer soul. It's mechanics are shit, its art is awful, and the world is empty and boring
Skyrim is lifeless and janky. Like ubisoft games, it's missing that je ne sais qouis. It's what I think of in my head when I hear the phrase "computer game"

I dont even like Morrowind. Only one I really have fond memories of is Oblivion and that's just because it was around 360's launch and me and both my brothers were playing it so we'd share progress stories with each other and it was their first open world rpg.
