By Perfect Blue Go To PostNinja Dog in the Itagaki Ninja Gaiden games was basically this lol.and it makes fun of you throughout the game, as it should.
you're forced to wear a hot pink ribbon lol and Ryu’s apprentice Ayane takes over as his master, but there’s not much beyond a few jabs and her face now gracing the title screen.
Mordor and Dragon Age Inquisition were so lucky The Witcher 3 was delayed to Q1 2015. Now they are only remembered as the mediocre cherry on a crap year versus not at all.
even then we had... ehm... *checks list* ok not a lot. but shit like stick of truth and alien isolation were still miles better, and shadowrun dragonfall and wolfenstein new order, were pretty good too.
I swear it happens for every game that was deemed good / great but not quite perfect at release. "It was actually shit."
I think it's far more likely that you just didn't happen to particularly like it for whatever reason or weren't interested and either didn't want to press the issue, because it would make you the odd one out, or at the time your bitching simply got lost in the sea of overwhelmingly positive comments.

Bayonetta 2, Dark Souls 2, Rayman Legends, Stick of Truth, Titanfall, Forza Horizon 2... all far better than DA:I or Shadow of Mordor lmao. Mediocre year but still plenty of actual cool games.

Or like me, you finished both of them and found them mediocre experiences and in the case of Dragon Age, the death of one your favourite series.
Dragon Age 4 will never release.
I don't think that's the case with DA:I and Mordor. These games won a shit ton of gotys like they were hot shit, when in fact they were... eh, hot shit.

it was okay, the Nemesis system was quite engaging and fun but everything else was merely serviceable. The levels in particular were horrendous....well it was technically one level but with a different coat of paint
This dude is the only streamer I like but I watch his vids edited on YT. This shit is bananas what a mad man
By DY_nasty Go To PostDragon Age died? I thought 3 sold pretty well.It did
Bioware's probably on life support though.
Started playing ObsCure for the first time ever. Crying at how many guns are just laying about the school. All of the staff is tooled up, like this takes place in, "The Substitute". This game is definitely, "The Faculty" without the license...or the good characters, but I digress. It's fun. It borrows a ton from RE and Silent Hill, with a light mechanic that's interesting to use. Lowkey wish I was playing it in co-op.
By DY_nasty Go To Postin a world where you have to look at your hand to guide where you want it to go i guessSounds like you genuinely need to get good. The direction system is incredibly sensitive and once you've got the hang of the sensitivity you shouldn't need to move the camera at all to select a new attack or block direction, there's even a moment after starting your attack where you can switch once you're fast enough. Is your mouse sensitivity turned way down or something? There is a training area in the campaign for a reason, you can just go there and practice circling the mouse for a bit so you can get the attack directions you want without having to move your camera
I never said it wasn't simple.
If I want to swing from the left I have to look away from what I want to hit and then start my attack while turning back towards the thing I want to hit?
This is something from 1996.

This is clown shoes.
I'm not gonna bother with practicing a fundamentally terrible control scheme... Why would I mimic the same movements I use to snipe in overwatch to block an attack? It's a control design built for people who think hand eye coordination is an elaborate ruse.
@Perfect Blue & BA
I dunno if I'm gimping my party here but I based my whole strategy on inflicting ailments and binds.
Wreaking havoc across the battlefield sounded more fun and strategic than solely relying on damage lol. As long as we keep glass cannon Smokey and Blackace alive and healthy, we good.

What was it...like two tiny main areas?

Still, it's your time, I probably wouldn't spend the effort to try and get a gameplay system to work for me if it didn't after 2-3 hours
if only there was a game in 2014 that got rave critical reviews, sold well and continuous to sell very well to this day and is widely regarded as the best in the genre.
a game like that should've gotten GOTY.

I want to do a playthrough with heavy and weird science weapons

Lowkey wish I was playing it in co-op.There was a game that I saw a speedrun of a few months ago that I think you would like but I can't remember the name of it. It used very simple geometry and was almost entirely a single shade of black and white. The main mechanic of the game is that you could only jump/walk/etc on surfaces that were lit. The light made them solid.
But now I can't remember the name of it and google searching isn't helping me much, either.
RRRLTTP but Horizon Expansion is damn good and I wished I didnt let it sit so long. On the other hand, it’s beautiful in the OLeD so lol
