By inky Go To PostIt's not dodgy, it's just their base presets which are very unbalanced.
AC has always performed badly on PC, but you can save like 30% performance by just turning a few settings down, especially stuff like volumetrics and water quality that have insane requirements for negligible visual gains.
With console optimized settings (which is a mix of high/medium and low, or even lower than lowest PC like 2x AF, etc.) you'll get 60fps+ easily on those target configs. On PC, you can punch most everything to max on almost every config, just turn a few like Volumetrics down for those gains.
Couldn’t get 60fps when I played a bit of odyssey on GeForce now, no matter what I did. And it was running on their highest spec. Very heavy on CPU.

Essentially, both of those systems can do both target resolutions and framerates as long as you move the sliders a bit.
Ultimately they’ve chosen a target frame time at Enthusiast that’s harder to achieve than the target frame time at Ultra. To me that’s dodgy.

if i'd gone a few days earlier, i would've gotten 250 euros, but the value immediately dropped the moment sony announced the price. ;_;

Shame that amazon trade-in doesn't exist anymore. Alternatives are rebuy, zoxx or gamestop. Gamestop and Rebuy don't buy consoles that have been opened, so the only choice would be zoxx. They offer around 150-190€ for the console + controller.
So I've been trying ebay instead. The console, 2 controllers, the charging station for the controllers, vertical stand and 3 games (AC Odyssey, Fallout 4, Bioshock Collection). Put it on 280€ with the buy it now option and selected the option that people can make me an offer.
So far no offer or anything, only 6 people putting it on their watchlist.

Server CPUs are usually clocked lower than general use, so it could be that this particular engine likes higher clocks more than cores.

Valhalla has the better environments, lighting, foliage, effects etc
Bounced off the new AC formula pretty hard (although 2 and Brotherhood were the only good ones of the original style anyway) but Valhalla looks like it'll be worth a try. Viking era Britain, very cummy. Should be cheap once I'm done with Demons Souls and Cyberpunk too.
I'm in to fuck shit up, I am cautiously optimistic about the town building/army aspect though, i'm guessing they'll make raids similar to the war battles in Odyssey with a mix of conquering a port in black flag
