Bradley is a bad name
Chadley makes me wish digital entertainment had never been invented. Hope he's in it for 30 seconds at most.

By MonadL Go To PostLooks like MM did it. Dreams looks fantastic. It looks like so much thought and work has gone into it, but I just can't see it having legs or huge appeal. Don't think it'll ever be for me, hope it finds an audience though.
Last DMC3 Switch update, you can play Bloody Palace on Co-op with Dante and Vergil simultanouesly. Sadly only local, but definitely the best DMC3 version is for Switch
That Red XIII render is basically perfect. Did it turn out to be bullshit that you can't use him in battle? I'll link to it since I kinda don't want to see any more of the game until it's out and others here might be in the same boat
Seems it'll have a modern RPG quest structure, really hope they've improved from XV in that regard

Red XIII is only a guest character in Part I. Which I think means he's not a full party member for regular use in battle? He doesn't come into the party until right before the Midgar escape, so I guess that's their justification.
Ah yeah forgot how late he comes into the party. Wonder if there'll be nudges and winks towards him during Part 1 even before the infiltration.

I’d also just like to say I am irrationally excited for FF7 Remake. So close yet so far.

Interested in this despite knowing nothing about it beyond the title and “it’s bit like Diablo”.

3 hour thoughts on Wolcen. It is
70% Diablo 3
10% Path of Exile
20% Its own thing
The best things about the game so far are the graphics and the punchy gameplay. Monster density isn't amazing early on (not sure it will ever be) but the combat is pretty methodical and the one boss I've faced was harder than anything else in comparable games. If you like the slower paced brand of ARPG's this is definitely it. It's more 'stick and move, dodge' gameplay and less 'drag your cursor across the screen while unloading cooldowns' style.
So it's no cakewalk and I can already tell builds are gonna require some finesse, at least in the sense that HP is important for all configurations, so stats aren't just dump bins based on colors like in D2 or TQ. Diablo 3 just gives you stats based on your class, and paragon points you can shuffle around so basically you just need to level up a character and there is no penalty for switching things around. PoE's stats are incredibly important for gem and item requirements, passive point map planning and as prerequisites for endgame content milestones. Wolcen is a good, more casual oriented in between (much more customizable than D3, much less complex than PoE) because it separates the galaxy passive skill tree from the stats (the active skills you can just buy/earn and switch around), so the resulting damage boosts aren't completely beholden to efficient pathing and respeccing is less punishing.
So for early game, it's quite good. Endgame apparently consists of an equivalent of D3's Rifts and Bounties with a bit more engaging meta systems like leveling up your town (something unique to this game), rerolling instance modifiers and an enchanting system closer to PoE's use of orbs, but I can't say how it is until I get there. Bit buggy tho and hard to tell how it will go on from here.

Haven’t even played a Diablo game in my life either.

Oh, I forgot to say. The unique aspects to Wolcen in comparison your average game in the genre are:
The resource management system. You get some stamina pips for dodging and movement skills. Willpower and Rage are like your typical mana and whatever the warrior equivalent would be, but they interact with each other, so it promotes some fun build possibilities. you can pick one or the other regardless of if you go melee build or sorcerer, or use both at the same time. Every other game has something like this, but it's different enough here to feel like its own thing.
Then there are the Apocalypse Aspects which are 4 different transformations with their own skillsets and ultimate abilities. So basically you can transform your character into a unique avatar for some gameplay variety every now and then. That's independent of your build as well so it's kinda cool.
And finally the town improvement in endgame where you can dump resources into buildings and stuff. It's got a little bit of town management, turn based mechanics that seems way more involved than your typical dumping gold into traders till they reach level 10 in something like D3.

I realise SkillUp is cancelled in some places (can't even remember why) but this seems an ok review and summary. I'm playing solo and am enjoying it a lot.
Sometimes I think about how everyone lauded Yoshio Sakamoto as progressive and ahead of his time for revealing that the sci-fi protagonist of a video game was a hot babe at the end
And then he completely blew his cover by making Other M, one of the most sexist Nintendo games ever made
As far as I know the closest thing Japan had to feminist media in the 80's was Miyazaki's Ghibli stuff, but I guess my references are pretty narrow

The fashion game looks pretty promising too.
By Laboured Go To PostThe fashion game looks pretty promising too.Dyes and transmog should be staples in every RPG.
What build u doing atm inky? I've gone pure melee just to start with. I've found mostly spell skills so far so I'm probably going to need to buy some melee skills.
I'm going Bow for now, gonna play around with projectile damage and stuff, but I don't know if I should add poison on top.
There's basic co-op. You party up and trade stuff with friends. I can't imagine they'll do PvP, but they've promised "seasons", so I think it's gonna work like Diablo 3. Offline/online characters and stash are separate.
