By Fenderputty Go To Post🤔turn based tactic RPGs feel boomer?
I feel like the AP system effectively creates turns, but it’s more tactics like as placement matters. Either way it feels pretty boomer in the discussion of modern rpg mechanics and it’s a great game.
Can't co-sign this.
Modern RPG mechanics are what exactly?

Maybe I Just need to play more rpgs lol.
But yeah bigger titles all feel more action oriented than a game like Divinity.
Edit: some have even incorporated a first person view lol

Some have, some haven't. Just depends on the title. Soul like games have been the bee's knees lately but is roll dodging a modern day mechanic?
By FootbalIFan Go To PostRightyeah, they definitely require a pulse

There’s nothing specific to note too. Like dogma, Witcher, souls and even Ff7R are all quite different From Anything where I take a turn and then the CPU does but those gameS are all different themselves.
Shit man i remember needing Nintendo power to find edrick’s armor in DQ1. Anything with a turn brings me back
of course they are different... but action RPGs are not new, they look and handle better, now. They also have a bit crossover appeal because now you can cram RPG elements into anything pawn it off as an RPG.
Speaking of Divinity BG3 goes into early access pretty soon now

By bud Go To Postit’s fascinating how all these xbox previews are about last-gen games.they would show next gen games if they had any. gotta play to your strength.

Phil is a master at this PR game. Convinced an entire fanbase that the next E3 would be the one and that playing old games is what new hardware is all about.
By Laboured Go To PostPerfect description of roguelikes.
By Yurtlicious Go To PostAre you a fan of rogue-likes?
By Yurtlicious Go To Postnaw I hate themWhich rogue-likes have you tried?
but like jrpgs, I might be one great game away from liking them lol.
Also I assume you have completed Persona 4 Golden?
By Eternity Go To PostWhich rogue-likes have you tried?Dead Cells, Binding of Isaac and Remnant (if it counts)

No, but I finished vanilla 4! I was burned out as hell by the half way point and I just wanted it to be overrrr
Great OST, fabulous characters, fun setting (on paper) but the dungeons and half the boss fights were a real slog. Nobody should really play it now that 5 is out, it was basically Persona 5 but worse in every way. Izanagi tho <3
By Laboured Go To Postand theyre all the same shit like "popular game is bad" or "bad game is good"

I don’t disagree but I mean what else are they supposed to be
You expecting something like “RDR2 would be better if they let you join the clan”...?
