By Facism Go To PostMy dad used to have arcade cabs in his shop when I was a lad and we'd have a crowd of people doing "winner stays on" with SF2, KoF, Samurai Showdown, Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, World Heroes etc.the Dreamcast sessions are some of my best memories
Incredible times. These days friends got to check with their partners if they're allowed to step outside of the house for 5 minutes or get accused of cheating.
Fighting game remain the most fun in gaming.
These days i sadly have no friends who play them anymore and online is just not the same.

RE8 is looking kinda fire. They're speaking my language.
RE8 might be on PS4 and Xbox One, afterall. That change in tone.

Let's keep the MGS discussion going.
These ports are likely shite. Would rather dig my PS2 out and play the originals at 240p or whatever.
So....
RE8 was running on a PS4 Pro for play-tests.
They decided to make it fully next-gen, for whatever reason.
???
Now it "might" be back on current gen platforms.
Wtf happened to make them change their minds? Money? Development issues with the 5?
I hope they don't have to downgrade, to much. 😔

By EldritchTrapStar Go To PostSo….simple answer: it was always going to release on everything. never even looked like a next gen game.

Yea. That framerate has been atrocious, everytime they've shown it too.
Only fighting game I get to play now with humans is smash with my kid. It is not a good game
my guess is with the current pandemic they probably are estimating less people owning next gen systems now than their previous estimates and so to maximize profits need to put on the old systems. (Or it was always going to be cross gen)

Muh boons. Got that cast that drops festive fog, augmenting with lightning strikes in the fog, chance of double strikes, plus enemies inflicted with hangover take 90% more damage, also chaso boon that gives me 70% backstab damage paired with upgraded sword that has critical chance for 200% damage.
Literally walking into rooms at Styx and clearing them in 5 seconds. That Isaac godlike feel.

Had a bow build that was nightmarish. Had chill and lightning setup that just locked down everything. Didn't even need to move. Had the bow where you could load your casts into your basic attack. Absurdity. Had Hades in the fetal position in seconds.

Assuming GloSC works with a DS4 or Xbox controller like it does with a Steam Controller at least.
I've only done 4 Hades runs, so still figuring out what everything means, but I'm really enjoying this so far, it feels so good.
I've yet to get to a point where I feel like I'm overpowering enemies, but the spear has been fun so far.
Assuming you get to a point with strong builds progressively?

I just melted half his second phase hp in 6 seconds with a combo of festive fog, hangover, full Zeus lightning call + all dem buffs, nothing but net now he can't bitch out with his invisibility attack + purge.

not really sure what devs can do either, there's a push for rollback netcode but it doesn't really fix the core problems
konami really just dropped the broke ass 2003 ports huh
they dont even support triggers, might as well just emulate the ps2 version

By Yurtlicious Go To Posthow hard is it fascismo
you know me too well, will it bore me?
I've cleared it twice over 20 runs so far. It's not difficult, but like most roguelike games, it's a balance of your own ability mixed with RNG abilities and buffs, resource attrition and some choice of progress through it's areas. Between runs you can use the currencies you collect to level your character up some when it comes to HP, magic casts, number of lives per run etc, you talk to characters in the hub, give them items to improve your relationships with them plus each unlocks a item you can take into the run to provide a passive buff of some sort.
Combat is basic but can be a lot of fun, with a bunch of different weapons you can use, each of which eventually can be modified somewhat to provide for specific playthrough styles, like i just cleared the game with the starting weapon specced for crit damage chance.
Music is really good and everything is voiced pretty well for what is supposed to be an indie.
It's a lot of simple mechanics that synergise really well and for me so far gives me that feeling I had with Binding of Isaac when I had to complete and unlock everything. There's always something to progress towards.
Don't know if it'd bore you, but that's going to depend on where you stand with the repetitive nature of roguelikes. It's a shame Bloodborne's chalice dungeons didn't operate like a roguelike, thinking back.
By JesalR Go To PostI've only done 4 Hades runs, so still figuring out what everything means, but I'm really enjoying this so far, it feels so good.Yeah, the game levels you up in quite a few ways and the way they do it is pretty interesting. Little stuff like more starting health may not seem like much, but once you're more familiar with enemies and approaches, it gives the player the option to say "maybe I don't need to take the door with the bonus max health drop right now, let's go with poseidon this time". It doesn't seem like a lot at first, but then you start noticing those decisions all over the game. Even when you're powerful, you're back after a win and the game shows you more options to make the next run harder but even more rewarding. Tons of ways too. Not just handicapping or the lame shit either.

Overly strong builds still come down to luck of the draw quite a bit and bosses do change up as well. One of my best runs didn't come together until the final 10 rooms. And that's the rare part imo. Very, very few roguelikes play out in such a way where you don't feel like wiping and restarting after a few bad or unrewarding encounters. I love FTL and Into The Breach, but I get smacked one good time or come out of a tough sector with nothing to show for it, I'm starting over because there's the feeling that you absolutely need things to happen by certain checkpoints to feel comfortable in your progression.

My favourite franchise with my favourite game in MGS2.
it makes me sad that this will be the first PS console without a MGS.

Combat in Mafia: DE sucks ass. It's the exact same as Mafia 2. I don't know what Hangar 13 has been doing for the last 10 years. I'm playing on the real gamer mode, classic, and dudes headshot you from 40 feet away with shotguns. Had to switch to pro gamer KB+M to handle the shootout missions.
Story, dialogue and DEFINITELY the music are doing all the heavy lifting here.

sooo it's true to mafia 1 then
I have a lot of problems with some Itsuno's design choices, throughout the series: mainly with him missing the point of some of Kamiya's work, in DMC1. V is by far, the worst thing he's done. Lmao. All of my other gripes pale in comparison. I still don't know how you got past some of those missions, without uninstalling the game. 😂
Edit: Nero is the best. Friendship with Dante ended.

I'd kill for a DMC game with a proper meshuggah soundtrack or the like instead of babby's first metal banger.
