Also, I love the image in my head of grandmas furiously F5'ing Best Buy to get their grandchildren a console like that is something that happens.
More likely scenario is grandma giving you a wrinkled ass $10 bill and telling you to go buy a Nintendos.

Insomniac said the updates to the remastered version of Spiderman is way more than what Gears 5 is getting for free
By sy Go To PostInsomniac said the updates to the remastered version of Spiderman is way more than what Gears 5 is getting for freeI've got nothing against devs asking for cash in return when they put a significant amount of work into stuff like that, but forcing players to get MM to be able to upgrade just stinks.
Sounds like Doom Eternal is coming to Game Pass pretty soon. Not exactly surprising news, but good to know
I will wait to see what kind of remaster it is before being too upset. They should allow the PS4 to have a paid upgrade at minimum though.

Maybe they can stop Dishonored 2 from leaving the service so I can finally get to it.
After I play Dishonored 1 which I bought at full price at launch on steam and never played

Very Paul George like
Wonder what that means for other first party remasters on PS5
Surely no amount of work is worth $70 unless it's like a brand new game. And surely the Miles improvements carry over with basically reusing all those assets.

Noooooo doubt in my mind that they will lock 60fps TLOU II behind an edition bundled with the rumored multiplayer game.
And I will buy it day1 no matter the cost 😔
Same with Ghosts and it's MP mode.

yikes
Include back compat and then charge people for the same games again anyway. Very for the players here.
It's an enhanced version thoooo I doubt they merely flicked a switch here. I'm not saying its okay, but I get the scam.

By Yurtlicious Go To PostKibner dy please I'm rinsing code reds on hard hereThere is a difficulty or two above Hard. Insane and Chaos, iirc. I don't remember how you unlock them, though.

If the upgrade is as big as it seems for Miles, then I get it. It's more substantial than free upgrades that are essentially enabling PC settings.
Tbf they are giving free upgrades for Miles and sackboy and horizon 2 sooooooooo

By Yurtlicious Go To PostMiles Morales isn't even full next gen priceIt's an expansion, so it makes sense.
paying more for both sounds very okay
I guess when you add both up as a new buyer it's a good deal maybe, but the issue I think is there isn't an upgrade path for current owners.
"it's not even next gen price"
its £50 in the UK for what they have already said will be a substantially smaller game than what i paid £40 for 2 years ago. i'm not sure that's something they should be shouting about.

somebody has to play devil's advocate
Standalone expansion then. It's just semantics innit, just means it's not a full price new game and it's building on a ton of work already done.
But I don't really have a horse in this race. I'm just used to remasters being $0-$30/40 on PC for existing owners most of the time.

Even Bethesda gave out Skyrim Remastered for free to previous owners on Steam
By HonestVapes Go To PostEven Bethesda gave out Skyrim Remastered for free to previous owners on Steamif there were mods for Spiderman they'd give it out for free too
Recently, Mafia II remastered was free too. Not sure on how extensive the upgrade was over the original though.
Main point was that the company that thought charging people for horse armour, and to this day sells mods, knew that charging existing owners for a remaster was a step too far.

By Daz Go To PostWill my PS4 spiderman disc still be playable on PS5 though?Yes.
By sy Go To PostYes.boost mode should get us to 60fps - I'm good.
By Daz Go To Postboost mode should get us to 60fps - I'm good.No. Og spiderman was 30fps locked. Boost mode would only increase fps if the fps was unlocked like in God of War/Monster Hunter world/infamous/nioh/etc, boost mode will make those 60fps.
Sony isnt going to patch spiderman ps4 when theyre selling you the remastered version with an optional 60fps performance mode.
Considering all that talk about game pass:
I've been paying for PS+ the last 4 years. Getting every free monthly game.
I played maybe 10% of them.
Tell me how much you've been playing of your free games.
P.S. I haven't even installed a single EGS freebie.

i think the only free PS+ game i ever played was Killing Floor 2
if i want to play a game that bad i'll just buy it. being free/subscription isnt enough for me.

boost mode won't do a fucking thing for games with locked framerates.
