I am struggling to justify getting a PS5 this year.
Haven't played much for the past months and I am buying a new car next year if everything goes according to the plan and my job becomes permanent.

God/YHVH/Elohim/Reilo is down ngl it was a Nocturne tier fight in all the right ways <3SMT Apocalypse - hard mode. so listen I like SMT bosses more than anything but 65+ boss fights in one game fucking fuck me
overall, I'd say that was pretty fucking good! What an odd game tho from start to finish…a remix of 4's story but with Persona characters. And three fake endings lmao like WHY
but hey it has THE best JRPG combat system I've played so far, they fine tuned Press Turn to perfection, the addition of 'Partners' and Smirk is just huge as far as tactics go. I wouldn't mind if they carry over to 5! FUNNNN
anyway, my 3DS is running out of space….so I've gotta say goodbye to my babies for good ;_;
Etrian Odyssey and Velvet awaits
And yeah, the fake ending bosses were cute the first two times but it gets downright exhausting after a while

By Daz Go To PostCompanies normally undertake investment appraisal before committing to capital investment.
Estimation of future costs and benefits over the project life, particularly forecasting of revenues, savings and costs. Forecasting should be as reliable as possible. The assumptions on which the forecasts are based should be stated clearly, so they can be assessed and approved by the senior management working on behalf of the shareholders. Gamepass has been live for a couple of years so they would know how long they can persist for before a return is expected from investors.
-Assessment of expected returns, compared with the expenditure or investments made.
The initial capital cost of a project could include any of the following:
-the purchase cost of non-current assets (development studios)
-realisable value of existing assets to be used in the project (maintenance cost of maintaining the devs - expanding increasing salaries)
-investment in working capital (new projects and games)
-capitalised research and development expenditure.
- Expected losses from players who would have put down 70 trumps per head.
A project is accepted when it pays back the original investment within the specified time period or a target period. The company must therefore set a target payback period. The target payback period for Gamepass will depend on the point they intend to jack up the price.
This is just one of many models under Accepted Rate of Return.
You would need to know the average amount of people are subbed per month and then the number of subs would be required meet the return in a reasonable amount of time.
There is a belief that the upfront investment is the stopping point of cash outflows - this is not the case. Opportunity costs are huge here.
Call it "concern" all you want but I would legit want to see the projections models being used as opposed to just straight-up eating costs because they can.

Very difficult to dissect what exactly you’re trying to say here. And no idea what you mean by this:

Huge in what sense?
I’m struggling to understand how the model you’re describing is suitable for a subscription service like this

I started my vacation on Friday, he said thank you because I helped out solving a serious issue, that I should rest (I didn't take a single day off so far this year) but he couldn't promise that he wouldn't call me during my vacation because I am one of the best that he has in his team and that if they don't make me permanent there, he is leaving right after me.
I sort of believe him, I know that he had offers from private companies but he takes pride in helping improve the conditions of the network and servers of the schools all around the region and I help him with a lot of stuff.
From managing and maintenance of Cisco switches and APs, to the management of servers, multimedia stuff like editing videos and producing live streams, some basic web programming.
Only have a technical degree on web programming, the rest of the stuff I learned on my own and I am always willing to try and learn more things.

If the service isn’t profitable over time then who knows what happens to their gaming division
Maybe it brings some value outside revenue generation. Other companies have initiatives they use to manage their image or take to different bodies and institutions when it’s convenient to talk about them. But probably nothing on this scale

By Bungie Go To Post“The target payback period for Gamepass will depend on the point they intend to jack up the price.”This is a standard project appraisal method using payback period which is the time (number of years) it takes a project to recover the original investment. Microsoft's model might be based on expected cash flows rather than profits.
If they increase the price - the cashflow goes up - the excepted time of payback is lessened.

with the move to an online digital-only storefront especially with the Xbox Series S you have total control of pricing markups. The coming generation will see prices rise to around 70-90 dollars/euros per game, these are opportunity costs as gamepass is flat fee.

From trash to..."aite, I see you" in a day.
Considering preordering an X.
By Eternity Go To PostGamePass will get steady price hikes for sure. Wonder where they settle.I highly doubt it. 10 for Gamepass service and 15 for Ultimate seems to be the sweet spot.
Having tons of games to play is great but it isn't at the same time.
Yes, you have tons of titles to choose from but I think I used to complete more games when I had less choice.
Your backlog keeps increasing and then you have to rush to play certain games because they will leave the service at a certain time.
I downloaded Devil May Cry 5 but ended up never playing it before it was removed.

And a cross gen xbox game sitting better than a cross gen playstation game too
Naw. Gamepass was already looking like a ripoff for MS with the eh tier first party. Now that they've bolstered it to respectable, it's inevitable that Gamepass prices will rise. Probably only by 5$ to start, but it'll go up. And really no one should complain, the value is ludicrous and most people got multple months for like a dollar anyway.
im now even more curious how gamepass economics will affect the bethsoft catalog going forward since a lot of their pitch here is day 1 gamepass on all titles
if we assume no ps5 releases--then pc bros who really wanna play on steam are like the only major contingent that's gonna shell 60-70 trumps on these games while everyone else is subbing to gamepass.

If they increase the price they risk churn. And they have to consider how many of their subscribers are locked in for a set period at a set price. But still have no idea what the point you’re trying to make is.

It depends on how many games they would expect sell otherwise vs how many subscribers they have. The reality is they’re not going to put a million games on the service. There’s a balance to be had. But any “opportunity cost”, which I would think is very difficult to gauge, you would expect to be offset to some extent by subscription growth.

ID, Arkane Studios, Bethesda Gamestudios, and Tango Gameworks are all capable of making system sellers with enough of a budget thrown at them. It's just a matter of direction.
Arkane excels at immersive sim/FPS games with immaculate level and system design. If anything they need to lower their budgets because those aren't ever going to be system sellers.
