By sy Go To PostAfter Deathloop and Ghostwire bomb, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Bethesda studios turn into support staff for TES6 so they can get that out before 2025Bethesda already has support teams in Austin, Dallas and Montreal for this purpose.
If anything, they'll pump money into Tango and expand it, since it's the first studio they've had in Japan in 15 years.
By Daz Go To PostBit relieved they didn't get Bungie.Would prefer it the other way around.
Allow playing on Xbox live.

By Bungie Go To PostNot got a problem with him, just annoyed me how he was dead set against Microsoft bring Halo 3 to us.
Oh yeah I'm not saying his opinions on the Almighty Video Games are good ones but to call him a nonce like facism did is very unnecessary.
By Pennywise Go To PostWould prefer it the other way around.Bungie buys Microsoft :P
By Pennywise Go To PostWould prefer it the other way around.I know how you feel. And I understand, my POV is a selfish one - today was a massive loss.
By Daz Go To PostI know how you feel. And I understand, my POV is a selfish one - today was a massive loss.Don't get me wrong, I'm not really a fan of those massive buyouts.
In Bungies case it would have made sense to have someone with alot of financial backing behind you.
Besides I'm personally not really involved in any of their games and they got by far the biggest history with MS.
Bethesda on the other hand...
By inky Go To PostBungie buys Microsoft :PMicrosoft buys United!
By Pennywise Go To PostWould prefer it the other way around.
Anyone that remembers the quality of games Bungie used to make would prefer it
By sy Go To PostWhy would they expand Tango? They've been pouring money into all the studios they've acquired so far. The headcounts at studios like Playground, Undead Labs, Obsidian, etc. have gone up a ton and they've built new offices for Playground, Ninja Theory and inXile. Tango is their first stab at Japanese development in 15 years and they'll want them to succeed.
By sy Go To PostIf Sony doesn't buy Konami, Square, Capcom and Kadokawa by tomorrow it's over!!I love how reactionary people all over are.
Expecting them to make a bid tomorrow or even better, right away.
phil got baited into buying a bunch of janky trash
doom eternal was disappointment of the year
good for the dishonoured team though

By inky Go To PostAlanah won, Bold. Get over it.He's gonna kill that NPC in the most gruesome ways in Cyberpunk.
Count on it.
By sy Go To Postwhere is the anti consumer brigade?Still too busy complaining about Spider-Man exclusivity in Avengers
By Xpike Go To Postno but for real sony should get konami because konami is definitely out of making gamesThemselves*
Just have some patience.
By Xpike Go To Postno but for real sony should get konami because konami is definitely out of making gamesthey make a grip off games every year. Mobile/Pachinko and not console/pc stuff though.

No they are not. Not even close. They are a gaming company first and foremost.
They make most of their money from gaming and only a fraction from pachinko.
By sy Go To Postthey make a grip off games every year. Mobile/Pachinko and not console/pc stuff though.so not actual games just gambling machines

By DiPro Go To PostNo they are not. Not even close. They are a gaming company first and foremost.Does Konami know this?
The acquisition news made me look up the market caps for different publishers. Shocked that UBisoft's is only 9bn. Would have expected something closer to TakeTwo with all their IPs. They definitely wouldn't be for sale after fighting off Vivendi though.
By DY_nasty Go To PostDoes Konami know this?
Yeah? Look at their financials.
turns out when you stop giving funding to games and just live off licensing+rereleases of 20 year old games you get a nice profit
Digital Entertainment = Video Games
Amusement = Arcade
Gaming and Systems = Pachinko
As you can see video games are 65%+ of their business and gambling only 10%

Bluepoint MGS with remasters of the original voice acting
The Holy Grail, lads.
Think I'm gonna replay Bloodborne on PS5 when I get one.

Sony dont need to react and knee-jerk acquire a bunch of companies and lol Konami aint shit outside of Metal Gear and the IP is on its deathbed.
if the "remasters" of the voice acting is anything like the twin snakes I'd rather they just throw the ps1 original again
Konami would be the worst deal possible.
Hardly any developers left, not that many big IPs (Silent Hill, MGS and Castlevania) and the majority of company stuff is just not interesting.
They're doing the right thing by developing Silent Hill and letting Konami get a cut.

By Xpike Go To Postif the "remasters" of the voice acting is anything like the twin snakes I'd rather they just throw the ps1 original againDidn't they essentially hire bad impressionists for the voice acting?
mgs would be a top 3 ip for sony. we already know that sony is in the market for acquisitions, if they announce something it won't be knee-jerk even if it looks like it is, but maybe it'll get them to hurry up a little
By HonestVapes Go To Postu wot m8?not that it was a bad game, just had my expectations set too high because 2016 was so good
By rerixo Go To Postmgs would be a top 3 ip for sony
No.
By Hitch Go To PostDidn't they essentially hire bad impressionists for the voice acting?no it was the entire original cast not giving a shit
By Yurtlicious Go To PostSony isn't buying anyone, this isn't turn based lmao.gotta buff and defend this turn anyways or risk getting looped
By inky Go To PostDo people want MGS without Kojima or are you just assuming they'll bring him back for it?People just want those first 3 games remade.
By Pennywise Go To PostPeople just want those first 3 games remade.Heard tons of rumours about MGS1 and 2 so it's probably happening #itk

MGS is dead ok. It died with MGS V.
how many times does this need to be brought up
