Capcom introduced some hideous cheat prevention code in Iceborne's PC version that doesn't even work (first cheats were working within four hours of release) and causes major system issues. The main two issues are that it dramatically increases CPU usage (like more than half the CPU load is this anti-cheat shit) and Windows Defender sees the game as worth examining for malware the entire time it is running, leading to Defender consuming as much RAM as your system will allow.
Solutions to the CPU usage issue are either attempt to close the game through the taskbar while playing full screen and with a controller and then moving the confirmation dialogue box that appears to off-screen or run a cheat engine before booting up the game since it disables many of the cheat engine detection processes.
Of note, you can use both CPU usage fixes above and the benefits stack. So, yeah, Capcom fuck this release up with whatever anti-cheat shit they are using and it is annoying.

All of the press conferences always seemed like 30 minutes of actual good content followed by 2 and a half hours of time wasting garbage. Nintendo Directs are one of the best things to happen to the industry.
