By bud Go To Postit was intriguing at the start, but then you lose interest because it's all so dry and technical. towards the end, when the stakes are seemingly high, you actually wish you'd cared, but you don't.was he good in black kkklansman?
it has no heart; you don't really care for any of the characters, not even debicki's even though she gives the only noteworthy performance in the film.
branagh does a really bad imitation of malkovich. a laughable villain, really.
and washington just can't cut it; that was a really poor performance. he just lacks the presence and skill to carry a film.
👎🏽👎🏽
By Not Go To PostChris Nolan I'll give you 30 dollars right now to watch Tenet on my TV during a pandemic, goddammit, fuck theaters and their bedwettingNot going to happen any time soon. WB is planning to keep it in theaters for longer than usual because they have no competition.
If it's not sustainable in any scenario, adapt. Otherwise, die
this only applies to corporations
I watched about 90% of Silence of the lambs, kinda stopped paying attention after Hannibal got transferred but decent movie.
The cum toss is easily the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in a movie. Holy fuck I was not expecting that.

just read it‘s done over $200m at the box office so far.
doesn’t seem that bad considering the circumstances.

By bud Go To Postwarner bros can't catch a break.they would do better if they actually adapted to our current situation instead of hoping customers will risk their entire family's lives to watch their movies
Watched 1917 yesterday, thought it was super impressive from a cinematography stand point, the French village at night was great
People already were barely going to movies unless it was Disney or the Fast franchise and during a pandemic you really thought people would go watch your non-Disney movie?
By bud Go To Postjust read it‘s done over $200m at the box office so far.In 3 weeks and almost all of it was outside the US, where WB gets a lower percentage of the box office.

Movie needs about 500M to cover the budget.
Tenet down to 4 showings a day at my local ciné. #Flop
No one has booked a ticket yet for the remaining two today.

Seems like Nolan's films are becoming hit and miss.
Inception - HIT
The Dark Knight Rises - MISS
Interstellar - MISS
Dunkirk - HIT

By DY_nasty Go To Posthow is dunkirk better than interstellar lolIt's a lot shorter. Interstellar is trash and it goes on for like three whole hours.
Waaaaay better paced, filmed, brilliant audio design, and just an overall better experience. Dunkirk is in the running for his best film.

the prestige was the last Nolan movie I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.
I think either that or Memento is my fav
By DY_nasty Go To Posthow is dunkirk better than interstellar lolI absolutely hate Interstellar's third act.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostI absolutely hate Interstellar's third act.everything good about dunkirk can be found in the trailers
the commercials were legit better than the movie
By LFMartins86 Go To PostI absolutely hate Interstellar's third act.totally fair tbh
dunkirk was just a mess all around though. audio quality does not save that film. hell, i can't think of any other movie where people talk up something completely out of normal, immediate diction when describing film. just an incredibly odd talking point that only seems to materialize for dunkirk to defend it.
"but the audio tho."

The entire point of Dunkirk is that its pacing is purposefully fucked because it has no story to tell and it wants to be artsy-fartsy.
"Better paced"

By DY_nasty Go To Posteverything good about dunkirk can be found in the trailersNolan's entire point of audio editing is to make it loud and confusing. Apparently he takes it to such a turd level in Tenet that the dialog is barely audible at times because he wants the audience to feel confused with sensory overload.

If anything, I'd argue Nolan is the worst mainstream director when it comes to folly work because he doesn't give one flying fuck about coherency.
No point having a good score when it's there to drown out the things that make a movie.
Maybe Nolan should pull a reverse Fincher and direct music videos.

Only seen it once in the movie theatre and felt it was a great experience that didn't drown you in explanatory dialogue like the rest of his films. It looks good and sounds good and sometimes that's all it needs. *shrugs* Don't even really like Nolan as a filmmaker much.
you know what? interstellar may just be nolan's best film. i love it so much.
it has heart.
the music is zimmer at his very best.
i like the last act, too.
sure, it has scientists doing dumb shit and some of the damon stuff is bad (the docking scene, though: mashallah), but it hits the right notes for me.
ending spoiler: it breaks my heart when he meets his now very old daughter and has to say goodbye to her.
always gives me goosebumps.
