crazy cuz tlj was the only movie where finn has any semblance of a character beyond shouting for rey
Ah, nerds. Somehow so perpetually reading and learning about every little thing there is about their thing and yet they still get it so fucking wrong.
But clearly, that Rian Johnson really fucked up Rose Tico's arc from The Force Awakens /sarcasm

the funny thing is that Luke has probably among the worst performances in the entire series in rise of skywalker but i dont see anyone critizicing that for just being incredibly mindless fanservice
By DY_nasty Go To PostStill haven't seen ityou should, but with subs - your American ears is not ready for the dat souf London patter.
By DY_nasty Go To PostWhat did Rian even get right 😂1. Tried to sever the "only important people in Star Wars are legacy characters" nonsense in opposition to how TFA/RotS was trying to pander to Ivy League school admissions counselors
2. Put Finn on a path to become his own standalone character that wasn't just running around screaming "Where's Rey?!" as his only form of dialogue
3. Gave Luke some depth where he was the one actually saving his friends for once and not the other way around
4. Boyega wasn't wrong, there was plenty of nuance added for Adam Driver to work with and it wasn't because of JJ Abrams
5. Didn't pander to worst side of fandom
6. Dat cinematography
1. made the only good movie of the trilogy
2. made an star wars movie that doesnt rely on remaking shit that happened in 1977
3. pissed off the incels

By Hitch Go To PostIs it better to have no backstory, or an aggressively fucking boring one 🤔No backstory. At least people can come up with their own theories and write fanfic
If it’s just shit then it’s shit
By Willkiller Go To PostWhat the fuck, it just hit me that Brad Doriff was Wormtongue in the LOTR films
Dat Doc Cochran performance
Five eps into my Deadwood rewatch. The GOAT.

Dat Exorcist III performance....the real GOAT
Horribly, criminally underrated horror film. Film in general to be honest. It's fucking brilliant and Doriff is just exceptional.
tlj sucks just like all the other star wars movies lmao
the tlj defense force and the tlj bigots deserve each other

I appreciated TLJ for at least not being a amusement ride retread like TFA.
But by the resolution, they had written themselves into a corner - seriously, the big baddie was dead leaving just Darth Emo as the main antagonist - hence why Palpatine was brought back.
Oh and the cinematography was stellar.

kylo ren wouldve been a better vilian than palpatine's corpse
i guess star wars fans just couldnt comprehend a plot direction that wasnt a 1:1 to the originals

Just watched Halloween 2 for the first time. Surprised at how good it was. Took me out of the film big time when Donald Pleasance butchers the pronunciation of Samhain though.
Disney ain't shit. Typical corporate performative diversity. It's the neolib moderate maxim of look look look here's some nonwhite people and non-straight people if you don't blink, how fucking important and brave, but we know we can't fuck up the bag too much by letting them kiss the white people or have important storylines hahaha
The Last Jedi being the best movie isn't saying a lot

Watching the NBA game and Scott Foster reminds me of Eric Roberts so I look at his IMDB page.
Anyone know why he doesn’t turn down a role? He’s credited for like 100 movies in 2020 alone and no this isn’t an exaggeration

I don't want to revisit any of these movies. This tells me everything. They are all "Attack of the Clones" tier to me. Irredeemable garbage.
Yesterday I finished the last season of "The Clone Wars" animated show and I got to admit: those last 4 episodes were pretty good. I hope they give the entire franchise back to George and Dave Filoni.
Honestly I think Dave Filoni is going to end up running Lucasfilm
Especially if this new Mandalorian season is decent

they were filming that motorcycle stunt in Matera when i was there a year ago. impressive as fuck.

kinda interesting how big she got relatively late when at her age the career of "good looking woman" is usually over.
Re-watched Prisoners. Might be my favorite Villneuve movie. The performances and atmosphere are so good.
would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in him moving away from these smaller scale stories vs the big sci fi stuff he's been doing.

Fully expecting this Bond to be a bloated mess.
A while ago I googled for spoilers/leaks on the film and came across a Reddit thread from March where someone said "I bet the plot is about a pandemic and when this is all over in a few months it will be appropriate to release the film."
