I think Parasite has a very realistic chance. Think it’s between 1917, Parasite and OUATIH. 1917 and Parasite will feature high in the preferential voting lists (hell, maybe Joker too!) and OUATIH will be the chance to reward Quentin.
We already know that the academy don't watch films, let alone foreign ones. Parasite has zero chance of winning.

I'm not oblivious to what they're getting it, I just think it's a false equivalency. Twilight was made for and consumed by teenage girls and was largely mocked even as the films were releasing (largely by men that were dismissing a thing was popular among women, but that's a different discussion). The kind of people upset about Star Wars didn't see it or care about it if they did.
