Aliens is a good movie with great bits that is not a patch on Alien, which is one of the best movies ever made.
Alien has aged a bit more than Aliens (for me) that first half of the movie is still perfection though.
But I can never tire of Aliens.

Phil Lord had a screenplay credit on the last one, I think they're just producing it now
I'm also surprised they're pushing it back since its one of the Sony projects that can be made at home

By Daz Go To PostWithout Lord and Miller my hype will be kept in check
They cut a big deal with Sony, basically they are in charge of multiple Spider-Man projects last I read.
Lord and Miller mostly produced the last movie. They’ve said multiple times the 3 Directors are the guys that made it special

Vivarium had an interesting premise but should have been a short film rather than a feature length. Was basically over by 30 mins or so lol
By NinjaFridge Go To PostThe Fugitive is just greatIt's a pretty good movie.
I thought the sequel wasn't bad but it's been at least 15 years since I watched it so my opinion might change if I watch it now.

By reilo Go To PostThe Half-Blood Prince: Help. Its biggest sin is just how dreadfully boring this movie is. Dumbledore dies and you still feel like nothing absolutely happened. Why is this movie desaturated to hell for half the time? Why is it flat out in black and white for no reason during a random scene? Why is it steeped in sepia the rest of it? Six movies and seven character years later, it still feels like these young witches and wizards know two things at best. They should've taken a leaf out of some anime and actually spent time making us believe these kids are turning pro eventually. Some Rocky training montages would at least be entertaining.Deathly Hallows Pt 1: This is a very confused movie. I actually enjoyed the quieter parts as it came a bit out of the left field but the movie was extremely schizophrenic. Its action scenes are dumbfounding trying to behave like a military action one fight, a Jason Bourne shakey-cam, all the way to a wannabe Michael Bay chase scene. Yates does not know how to pace a plot. It's also the beginning of killing characters off-screen that were either memorable or important to prior plots. Bye Madeye, we hardly knew ya. Do you love deus ex machinas from any of the prior movies? Don't worry, here's Dobby to save the day.
Deathly Hallows Pt 2: JJ Abrams must be jealous. I don't wanna say this is Rise of Skywalker bad but it's damn near close. Did I mention Yates has no fucking clue how to pace a plot? Because holy plot conveniences and contrivances. I honestly was supremely annoyed at Remus and one of the Weasley twins being killed off screen. That was a total misstep that could have added some much needed somber moments to the story. But nope, let's just pan to some dead bodies on a gurney. Poor Alan Rickman deserved better than the trash they had him working with. A Snape montage, a heaven allegory where Harry gets to choose to live or go back to the real world (because it's that easy), allusions to Snape being Harry's daddy and an anti-climatic Voldermort death later, and this is finally over. We also have a SNL prody-style Longbottom fuck yea moment because he's such an important character, or something. Oh shit, Hagrid is still in this movie? Don't worry, Yates didn't forget about him for almost the length of two full movies, Voldermort was just randomly holding him captive for ... reasons. My brain hurts. David Yates is trash.
I'm watching The Assistant and it's very good but ugh some of it hits a little fucking close.
Edit: ok yeah that was great.

You know a movie's nothing but SJW virtue-signaling feminazi agitprop when the RT audience score, the true measure of artistic quality in film, is in the dumpster

Watched it again a few weeks ago with the GF. She hated it when she saw it on release, I quote ‘one of the worst films she’s ever seen’.
I told her why I love it so much, she gave it another chance. Told me it’s ruined other action movies we’ve watched since for her because they just don’t do it as good

COLIN GIBSON (production designer) I was in Namibia in 2003 when I got the call to stop spending money. I don’t know whether [the studio] decided to reroute their money back to the Iraq war, or if it was the email I got from Mel Gibson’s wife asking me how many Muslims there may or may not be in Namibia and, therefore, how interested she may or may not be in the whole family coming to visit.screaming
The things my mate could tell you about Mel now he's working on set with him. Let's just say nothing has changed.

as far as action flicks go, what do you guys like/prefer? They made a respectable movie out of the worst genre imaginable. 20 odd years of just really bang average movies

I got no qualms in saying it’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Spent a long time explaining why, could justify my reasons a million times over. If you don’t get it or don’t like it much at this point, that’s your loss. C’est la vie.
Imagine if the first movie to be released on theaters after lockdown is a bad mix of Changing Lanes and Falling Down with a fat Russell Crowe.
I watched the original 3 mad max films before seeing Fury Road which I think affected my enjoyment a little because it's basically the same movie as The Road Warrior.
