By Diego! Go To PostThe real shame is that Will Smith let his musical talents go to waste. He could have been one of the hip hop greats.😒
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was a waste of time. As someone who enjoys Tarantino movies, this was an utterly pointless one.
Very much enjoyed Knives Out and I dislike the whole Christie-infused whodunnit genre. Bond is great in it.
Next up, The Farewell.

what movie is that? that link is dead.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostThe Farewell is great, top 5 of 2019 for me.Been meaning to watch it for a while, the roundtable with the lovely Lulu Wang, Scorsese and a bunch of other directors Meier retweeted the other day give me the kick I needed. I'm now also uncharacteristically interested in Little Women.
By bud Go To Postwhat movie is that? that link is dead.Birds Of Prey. WB Latin America pulled the trigger earlier, trailer will be officially up later today.
Edit:
thanks, martins.
i've been watching these for a few years and for the first time ever, the host isn't being ridiculously annoying by interrupting everyone all the time.
it's actually watchable now.

Uncut Gems
Now that’s a fuckin’ movie. A masterclass in how to sustain tension, and one of the most purposefully abrasive films you’ll ever watch; it’s all overlapping speech and electronic music and harsh buzzing doors. Sandler is extraordinarily good - a variation on his usual persona, but with bile and desperation lurking underneath everything.
The most heart pounding end to a film I’ve seen since Whiplash. Hell, maybe Goodfellas. Can’t wait to watch it again.

One of the few critical darlings I'm actually looking forward to watching.
Watched half way through Irishman and am debating if I want to finish all that much.

I did and I loved it. Saw it was by the same directors.
I will, but only because everyone raves about the ending section.
Scott Derrickson tossed off the Dr. Strange movie prolly cus he thought he might get some leeway to make it a horror movie lol.
marriage story is good.
i swear, i remember watching girls (please no bully, i quit after s2) years ago thinking "this adam driver guy is going to make it."
i knew.

Yes. It was fucking awesome. I had some family and friends of family who were in it, unbeknownst to me until I watched it. Spoiler: A lot of my family is in the jewelry business and have offices in the diamond district LOL
looking forward to it as well, but it doesn't even have a theater run over here.
so i'll have to wait until the 31st.

By Laboured Go To PostI had forgotten that Kevin Smith had the capacity to be funny.I don't think he's made anything good since Clerks 2 and I expect Clerks 3 to be complete trash.
Seeing Uncut Gems next week
Excited that Rian might make a Benoit Blanc franchise. Fucking here for it

1917 is phenomenal.
Part of the joy in watching a movie designed bro mimic one continuous shot is looking for the edit points and how they mask the scene transitions.
A must watch and it'll make for an exceptional Blu-ray in 4K or otherwise. Plus the sound design is off the charts.

By Punished Go To PostCounterpoint: Uncut Gems was okThat seems to be the general opinion I have heard.
If you liked Good Time and the last half hour of Goodfellas then you’ll appreciate the similarities this has.
Will be a crime when Sandler doesn’t get a Best Actor nom on Monday.

Was surprised to see it's actually a Netflix thing over here, a pleasant surprise I might add. Will watch when it goes online.
