The Way Back was good. It's more the Ben Affleck show than a "proper" sports movie and that becomes evident by the last act but that makes it stand out.
Affleck gives a powerful performance, could be a turnaround moment for him.

I thought it was just going to be Coach Carter for white people based on the trailers but it's not even a sports movie. I really enjoyed it.
Bloodshot had some godawful acting and it was so bland. What the hell happened to Guy Pearce to be on such a shit movie?

Thought the Invisible Man was pretty good.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostFor US folks, Hulu will start streaming the best movie of 2019 tonight.eh last thing I wanna do right now (or ever) is cry. Let's go Eddie Murphyyy
I could be tempted to sign up for MUBI. Some good stuff there atm: Vengeance Trilogy, some Jean-Pierre Melville, Bergman
Rewatched Unquiet Graves now that's it's on Prime. Documentary about a group of British soldiers and police who murdered 120 civilians during the Troubles. Some mad stories in there.
Also watched First Contact as I have to get through the movies so I can watch Picard. I was surprised that it was actually a good thriller and a fun romp (surprised because I've heard only bad things about the TNG movies). Other misc thoughts: cool grey uniforms; Geordi has eyes now, huh

By Daz Go To PostIs Aeronauts any good?I really liked it.
its on Prime currently.
By domino Go To PostBirds of Prey is so bad 😂It really is, I have no idea why it reviewed well. I’ve seen 16 movies that released this year, I rank BoP at 12. The only movies worse are horror movies
It’s not even as good as Underwater

"No Country for Old Men" is even better now than when i first saw it.
A "thriller" movie where no character is dumb or makes any dumb decisions.

By n8 dogg Go To PostThought Dolemite was pretty good. Ascended to great for the spell Snipes was in it.Yes n8!
Although I thought Eddy was on point for the whole movie as well, Snipes did have some great lines.
I think Murphy was great, but a lot of the stuff concerning just him was a little rote and predictable; when Snipes came in it turned into some blaxploitation version of the Disaster Artist. He was incredible. Such a good character.
Thought Underwater was okayishly watchable. Invisible Man was actually fairly decent too.
But then, feeling a misplaced sense of invulnerability, I made the mistake of watching the Black Christmas remake and holy fucking shit.

saw it in the theater. it is so bad. has nothing the previous two (great and fun) movies had going for 'em.
and i cringed when i heard will say "nigga." it sounds so forced coming out of his mouth.
chris' original plan--before jonny, guy and will told him to change it--was to call their album everyday niggas instead of everyday life

No Country's one of my all time favorites, but Llewyn's decisions to go back into the desert with the water and his pride in rejecting Chigurh's offer over the phone were pretty stupid and what get him and Carla Jean killed.

Based on the upcoming debut novel of Simon Stephenson, Set My Heart To Five follows an android dentist named Jared in the year 2054 who “undergoes an emotional awakening and embarks on a quest to convince humans that he and his kind should be permitted to feel.” The Westworld vibes are strong in that description, but Stephenson’s story is decidedly quirkier, as Jared’s journey is inspired in part by his affection for the films of the ‘80s and ‘90s. His journey, then, leads not to an insurrection, but rather a road trip that culminates in his writing of a film script that will “change the world.”Hmm, that sounds awful
