By aka Espi Go To PostBruh my man chases Cecilia through woods and punches through the car window to pull her out. I don’t how many car windows you’ve punched in your lifetime, but I’m at 0. I don’t have this in spoilers because it’s in every trailerWas she escaping an abusive relationship or did she con him and steal something from him? Because that entire opening felt like a heist sequence because that shit was way too ambiguous.
I think your whole outlook is the exact message of the movie. Despite his obvious anger issues and her paralyzing fear of him, you still have doubts of her claims.
I do agree with your point of cheap thrills.
Punching a car window versus putting on a suit and slitting somebody's throat in public to frame an ex lover? And again we still don't know if it was Adrian or his brother doing the killing because the movie goes out of its way to setup a cheap plot twist that makes no sense. All we have is Ceclia's word saying she knows his body/can feel his presence mjlaugh.gif. Come on man, set the plot up a bit more is all I ask especially if you're gonna go the sci-fi angle but explain it away with feelings.
By Cleff Go To PostI admire the attempts to retcon the entire film out of existence
I was less upset at this, but more upset they dropped Finn's apparent feelings and then never fleshed them out. Completely dropped.

I've been in a controlling relationship with a psycho before, so I felt they did a great job.

I had typed out a response but honestly, you're right. Shit just doesnt make sense, or the movie doesn't provide enough. My belief was Adrian was responsible for everything up until killing her sister and then he somehow convinces his brother to suit up afterwards so that he could be the fall guy. In the second time you see him, he says how Adrian was always controlling him which leads to my belief being possible, but then when he reveals that they knew she was pregnant, his whole demeanor isn't that of someone being controlled.

And they provided zero background or motivation for the brother being involved or being just as deranged. Also how was Adrian tied up behind a sealed door after the brother died AND WHY??
Why even fake the suicide? None of it adds up.
Cecilia said "I know his body" as a way to handwave it away 😂
Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Gorgeous. Not because it’s an overwhelming, melodramatic experience, ready to be the final word in queer romance. But because it’s so quietly, understatedly specific to the story of these two (three!) women, so specific to the love they find themselves experiencing. Sparse, silent and suffocating in equal measure, yet with a tranquility and beauty that permeates every frame. The final couple of scenes are stunning resolutions to what has come before, highlighting the everlasting joy and pain that love creates simultaneously. Beautiful photography, lighting and colour grading, exceptional performances... a sensational achievement.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostIt's truly an amazing movie. Been stuck with me for days.
Bits of it keep playing in my head. That last scene... I could have watched it forever.
By /sy Go To PostWatched 30 mins of A Ghost Story and I think I don't need to watch the rest.just need to make it past the pie eating scene

I saw it this afternoon and agree with all of this. Would have been a much more interesting film than the one it turned out to be. It all got a bit silly and flashy imo. Still, I quite enjoyed it lol, mainly for Moss's performance.
By diehard Go To Postjust need to make it past the pie eating sceneI did. I lost interest after the jealous boyfriend ghost scene.
She was eating that pie like it was pasta. She didn't want the crust??!!!

By LFMartins86 Go To PostThe last scene was so simple and yet so perfect.
By cashman Go To PostSaw it last night. Incredible movie, probably my favorite of 2019.Interesting. Who knows if and when I'd be able to see it in the local cinemas. Probably never. Gods bless obscure French distros.

By Slavic Go To PostBond moved to November.Because of the Coronavirus?
pretty crazy, now they have the song out and marketing in full force
By reilo Go To PostBecause of the Coronavirus?Yes. Makes sense.
By reilo Go To PostSucks but yea, probably for the best, especially with how huge overseas is nowadays. They are predicting a 5B$ loss on box office revenue due to the Coronavirus. Edit : on the global market, not just 007 obviously.

Missed it at the theaters but I can wait until next week to watch it home.
The theater doesn't shake as much as the subwoofer shakes my living room.

By Lunatic Go To PostSame with Birds of Prey and SonicKor Subbed leaks are worse than Coronavirus.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostKor Subbed leaks are worse than Coronavirus.Nah I'm actually flying into coronavirus so it's more real to me so this is nothing.
I thought it was okay. The way it was filmed was nice, and that scene where he has to escape the enemy camp was legit, but idk, rest of the movie just didn't do much for me.
I edited the post.
Lads, it's good to try and keep spoilers tagged at least one month after release.

The best part of the movie was how it introduced elements of the video game it was based on in the last forty-five seconds
By inky Go To PostLOL I wasn't being seriousI was going to say.. haha
It's a Sonic movie
I know it's just a Sonic movie but some people might be looking forward to it.
I actually am (I already knew the spoiler) but I didn't get a chance to see it because the cinema here only had one session of it and it was dubbed, the version out there is very pixilated on the most busy scenes.
I understand that the fear of spoilers can get a bit stupid at times but it's not much of an effort to spoiler wrap what you want to say.
That way people can still talk about what they want and people who wish to avoid spoilers can do that easily.
The comment I made on Laboured's post was nothing more than a joke and I don't like to edit people's posts but it was just so people can interact on this thread without fear of spoilers.

Onward gotta be the least appealing looking Pixar movie ever. Looks like a Dreamworks movie that was created in 20012 for Jack Black and Michael Cera.
watched the sonic movie
a fine origin movie, with sonic being a very likeable creature and jim carrey being a great eggman, a fine enough adaptation of Sonic 1 for now
while i normally hate that they set up the sequel, i feel like what is promised at the end means that Sonic 2 will be an actually great Sonic film
