I bet he was even good in War Machine

He is consistently great yeah, and that’s forgotten a lot among his celeb status. Also produces and champions a lot of good shit too, especially work by PoC
Actor Laurence Fox slams Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes over 'incongruous' Sikh soldier in blockbuster movie 1917 as he says 'forcing diversity on people' is 'institutionally racist'Always sad to see the brazen attempts at chasing the alt-right money.
But there are lots of cunts in the world. Why am I meant to care about this one?
He's barely even borderline famous. And his racism isn't even notable or outrageous. It's your classic white, middle-class, English milquetoast racism heard at cafes on Sunday mornings all over England.

While he's absolutely a cunt, and what he's saying is absolute nonsense, I did think that scene was a little on the nose.
everything is filmable with CGI and a budget what does that even mean anymore

I love Dune and Villneuve way too much for this to pan out. Things like that can't live up to expectation.

Finally saw Once Upon A Time In Hollywood...
What the fuck was that? The movie was ok until the stupid ass last act.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostBy showing that Sharon Tate and her friends were just too incompetent to fight off their attackers?
If this was your reading of it... :lol
It gave meaning to DiCaprio and Pitt’s characters, firstly, by having them rise from the doldrums of their ‘finished’ careers to be given a second chance of stardom. Rick makes contact with Tate (and by inference, Polanski) and the implication is that he’ll now move back into American film. Cliff is given (some - we can have another convo whether this is deserved or not) redemption for the possible killing of his wife, and becomes a real life hero instead of just pretending to be Rick.
But ultimately, what Tarantino is going for is a wistful fantasy in which Sharon Tate gets to keep her innocence and continue to be the startling, vibrant screen presence that we literally see in the film - not just through Robbie, but through Tate. Having her encounter the Manson family herself robs her of that innocence, robs the leads of their cathartic redemption, and turns Sharon from symbol of the ‘good old days’ of Hollywood (again, we can argue as to the validity of that, but in terms of authorial intent, that’s what Tarantino was going for) into a femme fatale-esque character. Tarantino is arguing the Manson family were not deserving of meeting Tate, that to meet her end at the hands of dirty, drugged out hippies was woefully unfair and as such, keeping her away from them keeps her legacy alive.
Your reading of it is reductive and willfully obtuse.

Watched a bunch of movies.
A few older ones like House 1 and House 2, because they're really hard to get here (no BR).
Terminator Dark Fate was okay. Not really bad, but not really good either. The new Terminator just lacked charm, so did the new Sarah.
Action scenes range from great to shit, but overall they were among the positives. I dunno, I hope that's the end of the series now.
It was a good film compared to Geneysis, which was dogshit and yet I don't think we really need more Terminator movies.
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was great, I loved the last sequence.
Can see why people in general are a bit twisted with their views on the movie, considering how it's telling the stories.
Zombieland 2
Just like Terminator. It was a decent movie, but still far weaker than the original Zombieland. Could have been worse, but it's time for the series to go.
Ad Astra
Agreed with whoever said they don't needed the voice over. They kinda pulled me out a bunch of times. Regardless of that, I enjoyed my time with it and loved the cinematography.
3 from Hell
Another sequel that wasn't really necessary. Was kinda hard to see Sid Haig like that, he's a wonderful guy and I've had a short chat with him during a convention (same goes for Ken Foree while we're at it). The movie isn't really great and there aren't alot of positive factors, but it's a decent closure.
Crawl
Decent movie.
It's really hard to find decent animal horror movies, mostly just trash everywhere with a few exceptions here and there, plus the obvious classic like Jaws. Hopefully we'll get a Psy version with Igunas instead of gators one day.

Only thing I found ridiculous with Crawl is the female lead can just escape being caught 3 times from the gators yet everyone else is instawrecked by them. She didn't even slow down with all her wounds.
Her father was walking with a fucked leg.
You can't just walk around with a broken bone. When I broke mine and tried to walk with it, I threw up right away.
It's just a movie, I mean just look at the gator targeting the window.
Still, it's one of the better gator movies. Not that there are alot as the main focus is still sharks since the 80s, but most gator movies were utter trash.

but i do feel the final act is completely pointless to the overall story, its just "what if brad pitt was there to kill the Manson family instead" I know on a meta level its to fulfill tarantino's love for the golden era of hollywood but it really does not fit with anything else on the film, and I'm sure a large amount of the audience is not young enough to know who Manson or Sharon Tate were at this point to get it either
He did the exact same thing at the end of IB.

the french girl's entire storyline revolves around the plan of getting revenge on hitler
then the basterds also get involved in this plan
it does not come entirely in the last act like the tate murders, and is actually a clever subversion as the audience probably expects the plans to fail, bu they do not to the satisfaction of us, the viewing audience

Saw 1917. This can't possibly win moty. Some great scenes and the continuous shot gives it something unique, but it still ends up feeling more like a lovely exercise in filmmaking than anything else. Everything else about it was rather genre-tastic.
I had 1917 spoiled for me by one of the directors at my office today - and in great detail too because he was a high-ranking military officer.
