seems like he thinks his GF is fucking Magic.

I've always hated the fact that my favorite basketball team was owned by this racist tool.
I hope this is the straw that breaks the camel's back and forces him out.

Force a sell of the team, relocate them to Seattle. Everyone wins.
I....actually like this idea. Real talk though, it's fucking embarrassing that he's owned a NBA team as long as he has

Wow.. this is literally what I just posted on another forum.

This won't happen, but I'll be done with the NBA if it does.
I can't believe Buss was best friends with this piece of scum and actually used his money to buy the Lakers.
Oh wait I can. Rich white people in positions of authority?
I like how he's got that typical, I don't mind screwing black women or being cuckolded, but being in the presence of them or my wife taking pics with the dudes? Nah man, nah. Just fuck 'em in the stables or something woman.
As if this even compares to the housing discrimination lawsuit. We've always known he was a racist sack of shit. I can't turn my back on the players though.

Really? It'd be awesome. We get basketball back in a premiere city, Sterling is ousted out of the league and finally pays a hefty price for his many transgressions and is known for causing a fan base to be without team. It'd be amazing.
Much better than a team being pried away from a city like OKC did, the league would have little choice if they deemed Sterling unfit to run a team in a league with so many minority players.
The biggest problem with sports is that owners are basically untouchable fuckheads. Everything is done with their bottom line in mind, not what's good for the players or the game.

this city aint big enough for your joke of a franchise team.
Seattle can rename them the SuperHipsters.
Excuse me, the SuperHipsters already exist, they're in Portland.
Well then we will be the UltraHipsters.
Excuse me, the SuperHipsters already exist, they're in Portland........
im not surprised.
i can only imagine the smell. ugh.

It's no worse than dudebros who bathe in cologne. Pick your poison.
why is this suddenly a big deal again
is he suddenly more racist than he has been for the past 33 years
nba has made money with and off of him for that entire period but now theyre gonna act sanctimonious
i dont think soooooo
nba wont do anything other than give him a big fine
owners arent dumb enough to weaken their individual positions by acting directly against another owner, and silver is a patsy. we know this, they know this, everyone knows this
why do people even bother suggesting that anyone does anything to him when he owns the team, and especially why do people think that silver the employee has the power to do anything other than fine and damage control

It's a big deal because it's his newest incident and it's recorded this time. He may or may not be more racist today than he was when he bought the San Diego Clippers but that's not relevant. The NBA hasn't said anything yet, the only ones who have made stances against him have been the Inside The NBA crew as far as I know. I don't think the NBA gives a fuck if an owner is racist or not, they care when they make waves with their inability to conceal it cause then they can no longer feign ignorance about the situation... but I don't think that's very different than most other businesses.
I agree that mostly nothing will come of this since he is the sole owner of the clips, owners don't want to set any precedent or open themselves for retaliation and Silver not having "real power" like you said.
http://fansided.com/2014/04/26/mark-cuban-avoids-talking-donald-sterling-obvious-obvious/
This kind of says everything about how the other owners are feeling about this. Even Cuban won't open his big mouth to comment lol.

Listening to all 10 minutes of that was hard...there are a number of things going on here.
1) His girlfriend is a golddigging whore who set him up and goaded him into every racist statement he made.
2) The guy sounds disturbed in the head, the way he was talking, the statements he was making, the things he was asking of her...he just sounds seriously fucked in the head. Clearly he's a massive racist, and he's gotten to a point in his age where he's so old and damn near senile he can't control what he keeps in his thoughts and what he lets out of his mouth. It's fucking sad that a worthless sack like him is such a valued owner in the NBA. He's the worst racist you can have...he looks at minorities as his slaves, his employees; and his minority whores as just that, whores who he can fuck at will simply due to his worth. His perception of the world is unbelievably frightening, to be honest.

no moris, the real reason its a big deal again because players and the media get another chance to profit off of publicly voicing their distaste for him one more time, and then they can go and forget about it for three years until he says some more dumb shit
i dont know what you mean by "they're feigning ignorance". theyre not feigning shit. they know everyone knows what and who he is. players know it, league officials know it, the other owners know it and so does the media. much worse and more overt instances of his racism have been documented in the past, and everyone involved continues doing business with him anyway. he is a literal goddamn slumlord who denied people housing because they were dirty minorities, his words. there is no illusion here on anyone's part. just paychecks.
they dont publicise it because thats bad business, but thats different from pretending they dont know. they're smart enough not to do that, since it's too transparent.
and thats the point. acting like this is a "new low" for sterling (see: marc stein) is ridiculous. the media conveniently gets to voice its collective disgust only when he does something dumb and then everyone involved forgets about it until the next time sterling is dumb enough to open his mouth. and no one calls them out on it. they, and everyone involved, can shut the fuck up since they're completely complicit in whatever they think his crimes are.
and i mean, frankly, this a high for sterling. he was fine with his black ex-girlfriend fucking black dudes on the side! just didn't want to be made fun of by his owner buds for it! that is some serious progress in race relations for ds
I like how Lebron, in his feigned outrage (which, to be fair, is no worse than anyone else's feigned outrage), says that there's no room for DTS in the league, yet is perfectly content to play tonight's game as part of the same league.

throwing all the clippers players under a bus for playing at the same time as promoting himself and at the same time as having to make no difficult decisions himself
p impressive statement, accomplishes a lot in a couple of tweets

Well yea, that's the media, that's what they do. It doesn't invalidate anything I posted about it being buzz worthy enough to be news right now.
I agree that this isn't a "new low" and actually pretty far from the lowest thing he has done. It's just easier to get people upset over an audio recording of Donald rather than hearing about these sort of things after the fact or in court docs.
I don't hold out much responsibility on the players to do something. At the same time nothing is going to happen to this guy without a strong show of solidarity from the league AND the players. So in other words, I see fuck all happening.

conference on now.
what he has said "we're investigating it"
that's code for we're not going to do shit about it and let it die off.

league can't do shit so silver's non-response aint surprising, up the players to protest which probably wont happen either

don't hate on him just because he's a sensitive delicate flower.
Silver said the investigation is focused on the current audio recording, not previous discrimination and racism accusations against Sterling. The NBA has broad powers in place that include a range of sanctions, and all of those will be considered, he said.

its not racist, maybe back then-60/70's but i live outside Boston/go to school in Boston and its mixed every where, maybe southie is the only place thats mainly white but thats it, every where else is mixed.
that stiviano batch is hot, but I don't know if she's "I'd stop being racist for her" hot. someone dig up some pics of her
Oh come on Mamba. That's something the black people who don't watch basketball say on GAF. This isn't some pressing civil rights issue, and you know that as of right now, playing and winning is more important.

I say go all in.

Boycotting in this particular situation is pointless and most of the people criticizing and saying (namely JVG in this example) the players should do X could do something themselves.

Kevin Johnson, speaking for players' union, just said that Sterling issue must go away by Tuesday's Game 5 or protests unleashed
