By Meier Go To PostSorry about the dropped points but it definitely made for a fun 2nd half to watch as a neutral! Hopefully Sancho just took a kick.Problem is the lack of alternatives currently.
Since we switched to 3-4-3 we need Hakimi on the right, now that he pulled him up further to get into Sanchos position meant Piszcek behind him and he's just not gonna cut it with his age against a team like Leipzig.
By DerZuhälter Go To PostAs soon as Sancho was out I was pretty sure of Dortmund being unable to score. It wasn't really the problem that Sancho was out. More like Piszcek being on for Hakimi and Piszcek just doesn't really go forward that much anymore.
Bundesliga should pray that it doesn't rain like it did in the 2nd half. Both completely fell apart defensively
Guess Favre didn't want to risk Mateu Morey getting his first game against a team like Leipzig.
By n8 dogg Go To PostBeing srs. Thought one squad would be Adrian, Gomez, Milner, Origi with some yoof in there too. Realise you’re mega fucked by scheduling.Gomez and VVD are our only fit senior CBs
We only really have Firmino and Origi for CFs
Robertson is our only LB, Milner being the back up
We were fucked either way.

By Laboured Go To PostThis is not looking like the smartest idea right now.I blame Arsenal
they tried their hardest to lose to us
But we are just too good into losing
No manager is going to be able to solve Arsenal's problems easily with the lack of resources they have and the personel available. It's probably worth them flogging Auba to fund a couple of quality defenders, without that they can't turn it around
Laca is better, Auba scores more goals, although I guess that makes him better suited to the team. Laca would definitely bring in more $$$ so sure, sell him.
By Plasma Go To PostAny City fan annoyed at him is an idiot. And there are plenty of them. I am sure his contract right now can't be much more than say £1-2m. How can you turn this sort of opportunity down? People should always be looking out for themselves first and foremost and this is a no-brainer. If he doesn't turn Arsenal around he'll just catch on somewhere else and he's managed to get experience in the process.
Some of the replies and takes I've seen about it are truly baffling.
By batong Go To PostInky, how dirty are Monterrey? They are filthy northeners m9, but they are our only defense against the Americunts and Lolerpool hordes
I think Arteta is a smart move. Wins fans over, has praise from Pep... lot to do, and the club seriously needs to support him. But far more enticing and interesting than Ancelotti.
The power of Smiling does not work at Arsenal as Freddie proved
Let's see if The Power of Hair does it

I think Arsenal are set for a period of Man United-esque mediocrity and their squad will get worse before it improves.
Ancelotti will do well at Everton though imo. Can't really get worse and he'll make them more attractive to good rather than just expensive players. But they gotta stop signing players like Iwobi and Walcott. Signing squad players from more successful clubs is not the way to go. Trust me, I'm an EXPERT.

Sell Auba, Sell Laca, Sell Leno, grind up everyone else into a mince pie, fire the board, dissolve the club. EZ Mate.
You haven't had a Moyes moment yet.
It might not be Moyes himself but you will know when you have it.

It'll be if Arteta goes badly wrong the lurch to what is seen as a safe pair of hands tends to be where that happens.
The big difference between Arsenal and United is all in the finances. Arsenal's finances are precarious, and are going to become a limiting factor going forward, given that they're making fairly chunky losses.
United can be not consistently be in the CL for a decent while and somehow still do numbers

I'm not sure either, but my theory is that they ran themselves fiscally conservatively (in aid of the stadium) at exactly the wrong time, when they were one of the best teams in the country.
By the time they started spending again, they had slipped from the top, and the ballooning earnings in the prem meant that their spending power wasn't that special anymore. So now they're chasing?

Arsenal walked when they should have run, I forget where but Arsenal had one of the biggest cash reserves in a time where world class players were still going for sub 50mil prices (Not that this is any excuse, as we've seen both Mane and Salah were bought below these prices).

By Hixx Go To PostI think Arsenal are set for a period of Man United-esque mediocrity and their squad will get worse before it improves. Our downfall wasnt as huge as theirs. They went from Champions to midtable then to fighting for top 4 and sometimes not making it, but we are already on a below tier than their lower moment right now. Even Moyes United wasnt as bad as this seasons Arsenal. We are bottom half tier atm, United never were that.
