By Oddinho Go To PostYeah and there’s a reason that the 85 clubs in the football league that don’t win anything don’t have 635 million fans on Myspace or whatever. Winning titles consistently was a core part of United’s identity for two decades, and I would wager the vast majority of your fan base expects that out of the team. So I’m not sure why you’re surprised to see people disappointed and upset when United play “well” and still don’t win games.
For what it’s worth I don’t crave trophies or wins either, I’m generally in the same boat as you, I want to enjoy watching my team play and there’s a lot more to that than simply winning or losing. But I think you’ve got your head too deep in the sand. When you aren’t winning, when the players aren’t enjoying themselves, when the atmosphere is toxic, when other teams are laughing at you, it’s not a feel-good moment.
Beat Spurs and City in the last week. Would hardly say we aren’t winning or the atmosphere is toxic.
By Oddinho Go To PostI think it’s incredibly optimistic to believe that more than one or two of the current United squad would last in the kind of clear out you need. But it’s not my team so no skin off my nose if you think Rashford, McTominay, James, Lindelof etc. are good enough.
Your "Rashford is a mid-table club quality player" take is as intriguing as your "AWB is a back-up quality RB" take.
I don't know how to feel. On one hand, Mason is dicking his gf and football. On the other hand, Gomes is leaving.
Gomes is a great talent, but physically he's not built for the prem. Would give a buyback clause though.

Both will eventually come true.
The first is arguably true right now given Utd’s position in the tables
By FortuneFaded Go To PostWhat do you think will happen with Brewster?
I can’t pretend to know, I don’t really watch youth games. It seems like the club wanted to keep him so maybe he’ll have a place in the future? But at 19 years old I think you’d expect to see him coming off the bench here and there if he was that promising a player.
But I doubt you’re actually looking for an answer :P
So there have been instances of black peoples getting racially abused in Spain but no matches were ever suspended. You call one player a Nazi (which he kind of is) and the match gets shut down.

Tbf there is virtually no credible evidence that Zozulya is a Nazi that I have seen.
Monday lads. But since I already finished for the year last week, I guess it doesn’t really mean anything.
By Daz Go To PostGomes is a great talent, but physically he's not built for the prem. Would give a buyback clause though.I don't think that's true. He's never played in a way where he puts his physicality up to test. He has an amazing touch, with close control, and instinct to give a final pass or slip passes past defenders. He can at times be passive like Kagawa was because he's not the type who is going to try and dribble past players.
It's hard for me to judge a 19yo player who has only gotten 3 starts in his career for United, 2 of which were on the wing. He's meant to play in the middle. Hell, people like Nicky Butt thinks he can be like Scholes, which is where he played Gomes in the u19 uefa youth league last season. Which he bossed btw. It makes sense because although he's not a gifted a passer as Levitt or Garner, he's got better technique, has more bite than Levitt, and can slip passes past defenders through his timing. And in that position his passiveness doesn't become a problem because he gets to see more of the ball and help bring the ball out from the back.
We'll see though. I think if you're not making an immediate impression, it's hard to win over a manager. Williams had it easier because although he didn't provide much quality in attack, he's an engine at LB.
By Laboured Go To PostProbably just begging for a job at City.He was on all fours
By Laboured Go To PostThat Monday morning Ornstein tastes gud. What about Sancho? We're only what 4 pts away from 4th? Maybe we can convince him compared to where we were a month ago. Can't let Fat Frank pair up Sancho and CHO on the wings for the next 10 years.

I mean, what about him? He's probably not available until the summer.
I just honestly can't believe it's December and we've spent most of the season with Fred and McTom (or worse) in midfield. If you'd told me that at the start of the season I'd have assumed we'd be on course for relegation by now.

Presumptuous to the point of projecting to speculate that Vinai is a power bottom.
D Ferguson has made himself look like a bit of a tit with this Moise Kean stuff, then again I suppose it's just his inexperience coming through

Yeah partially but the cynic in me thinks that he's trying to lean extremely hard into the Big Dunc persona. The stuff with the jacket (twice) was proper Big Scotch Man cringe.

Oh I completely agree, I hope he gets the job because we'd be in for a period of hilarity with him
One of the best R16 draws for a while, we actually got a better draw than Liverpool and City despite coming second.
I would say that Big Dunk would be the first PL manager to headbutt a player but then I remembered that Pardew got there first
Simeone will run our players to the ground with at least five injures and the title challenge will be over.
Napoli matches should be fun.
Expecting Valverde to shit the bed in the first match, but Messi will rescue him at Camp Nou. Business as usual.

My immediate impression with the Kean thing is that he was trying to be mercurial and make a statement gambit. The jacket shit was so dumb.
By sohois Go To PostOne team will have a bye in the next round with Atalanta and Valencia I suppose
You can just say Manchester City.
By Laboured Go To PostOk all of these ties are actually interesting.
Harsh that City didn't draw St. Mirren.
