By FootFungus Go To PostCome to the Arsenal Pocket Tuna.
There almost no circumstance where I think poch wants to come to arsenal. Why would he take another build job when he could just wait for the inevitable real madrid sacking to come round. At least at utd hed have a bottomless pit of money to shape a team in exactly his image

What a fun and painful read.
Van Gaal attempted to sign Sadio Mane from Southampton in August 2015 only for the forward to reject a move to Old Trafford because, according to sources, he made it clear that he did not want to play for the Dutchman.

By bacon Go To PostAlmost as if different languages have a different lexicon π€Yeah, and I'm sure Ajax's social media team understands the attention this would bring but did it anyway.
"Different languages are different"
*tweets it out in English (to English speaking audience)*
Uh, OK. π€

By inky Go To Post"Different languages are different"I don't see it as a tweet for an English audience. It is first of all Dutch slang and secondly a pun that only works in Dutch.

The "we present you" bit is just a turn of phrase that they probably thought sounded cooler. It happens a lot in Dutch as we have the highest ESL proficiency in the world. English slips in a lot.
I've also never heard that slur used in the Netherlands so I wouldn't be surprised if they were unaware.
Now with that being said, as a representation of the global brand AFC AJAX I get why they are being scrutinised. Yes a large part of their audience is indeed not Dutch, I understand the hubbub. It is however really fucking unfair to call out a Dutchman for speaking Dutch because it resembles a different word in a different language.
This is all under the assumption that a Dutch football team has a Dutch Social Media team of course, and I see no reason to assume otherwise.
Addendum: It's a tweet celebrating a Dutch holiday. It's Pakjesavond today meaning St. Nicholas will give presents to children. He and his Zwarte Pieten will finally fuck off back to Spain tomorrow.
People are terrible Bacon, and it's hard not to give a side eye to that remark and think it's done for shock value.
By Flutter Go To PostPeople are terrible Bacon, and it's hard not to give a side eye to that remark and think it's done for shock value.I'm as cynical and misanthropic as can be, Ajax is my biggest Eredivisie rival club (although not close to Wooden Brondby levels), and I am well aware of the issues of ignorance and racism in the Netherlands.
And yet I have come to the defense of Ajax. The only thing you could possibly ask from Ajax is an explanation and they have provided one. No foul play here.

Can't believe Brighton didn't score there -- what a ball across the face of goal. Arsenal have been terrible so far.
By Plasma Go To PostBrighton should have finished that.
