By Wahabipapangus Go To PostWell fuck, that is half the counter point xd
But I do agree with most of what you are saying though. The handball rule is not working that well, and the at times delayed celebrations are annoying. But thinking back on matches, when I have been at the stadium, where Copenhagen have been cheated in both CL and league matches, we could have had such a different end result. Valdes kneeing N'Doye in the face, and the free kick for Barca as a result for example, or our infamous match for qual match against HSV, where a Championship referee fucked us over hard. God I wish especially in the last one, that we had VAR then. Especially for a team that depend financially on european (EL or CL) every year, it sucks that one bad ref can fuck over your clubs whole season and maybe even seasons to come. Things VAR would have prevented.
I also dont like offside being signaled, and then ignored. Just don't signal if the linesmen arent 100% sure, and then let play go on without signalling, but with ability to rule it offside after.
But again, overall I think VAR has been a positive. Despite it taking too long to review, I would rather have that, than Gazaniga getting away with kicking Alonso down. I would also rather have toes being judged offside, than feeling cheated by it afterwards when footage shows there was offside. People can say that is against the spirit of the game all they want, but holding a tight line for offsides, is a huge part of the game. And a rule change is needed if you really want that to change. However it will be interesting to see then, what an acceptable amount of offside would be. The tip of the toe? Small part of the head? Easier just to say offside is offside.
Well not gonna be able to enjoy alot of games anytime soon, unless I find a good paying job. More important things first.
And absolutely, there have been games where VAR would have made a tremendous difference, especially in cup games or CL/EL games where a team got knocked out for a fucking terrible decision.
I just don't think it's something that will ever end, unless you've got an AI as a ref or at least more professional refs.
It's just something that happens. Heck, in hindsight we prolly wouldn't have reached the CL final in 2013 without some horrible refs in the Malaga game.
The thing is, if you actually want to make offside 100% correct there's not just the situation about the body part that can score a goal, but also the exact moment when the player passes the ball, because that's something where hardly any ref really pays attention to it.
It just feels weird trying to apply a template of rules to refs that act quite different on the pitch. Personally footy is a fluid game and VAR makes things alot more static.
In the end it's just something that destroys alot of joy. Alongside other things like plastic clubs, monday evening games (fuck that shit), more and more involvement from questionable personalities, the power of FIFA/UEFA and the results that we're currently seeing.
There are just so many things that make me dislike footy more and more. VAR is just another part of it.

Inadvertently caught some episodes of Top Gear, and it's actually not that bad. Better than the last time I watched it, about 8 years ago if I had to guess.
I mostly agree with Wooden. Offside is offside. If that toe being half an inch offside is the difference between my club winning and losing the CL final, I’d be furious forever. Handball is far more problematic imo.
Moyes to West Ham is fucking class.

There doesn’t seem to be a consistency between the two and IMO they should really only look at the attacking player’s foot position for offside not a nose or what have you.

Is Hideo Kojima his dad?
By Punished Go To PostMaximilian William KilmanEven more incredible is that Wolves scouted him and took him from England's Futsal team.

VAR ignores the spirit of why the offside rule was brought in the first place which was to stop players goal-hanging.
When you start measuring arm-pit hairs you've gone to far and are in effect killing the sport.

if you're a mm "offside" due to your shoulder OR THE THICKNESS OF THE BOOT YOU WEAR, the advantage you are gaining is essentially non existant and calling the offside is genuinely pathetic. people will get turned off from football by it. i was today.
