By Pennywise Go To PostMost of them have never been in a stadium.
It's just fucking shit when you can't even celebrate anymore and have to wait until a decision is made.
I dont go often anymore, but I've had a season ticket for several seasons, thanks. How many Dortmund games do you go to? VAR can certainly be done better, but overall it's a positive in my book. Has saved a lot of absolutely shit decisions. Offside or offside is a pretty clear case, even if not by a lot. I think it's fine to call when it can be proven to be offside, like here.
The time it can take to come up with a decision though, is fucking stupid at times. Like when Gazzaniga attempted to kill some Chelsea player last round, and it took forever to realize that was not a free kick for him. Also it seems pretty shit how a VAR review is communicated on the stadium, but well, never been to a match with VAR (Danish league claims next year, but lol, not going to happen)..
Overall: Var is more good than bad. Can be better.
Anfield is actually one of the few stadiums in England that has Intel True View cameras. The problem with VAR is that it's too good.

A good stadium would have AMD.

Says what, specifically? That VAR was invented to stop City from winning the PL?

5-7 per season at home, 1-2 away. Plus 2-3 games in Bielefeld when my brother gets VIP tickets, but VAR has been only there since this season.
Offside in comparsion to the EPL is the least of VAR problems, but there are still plenty of errors. The handball rule that got changed is the far bigger problem. As they thought the change from intentional to a clear rule would make things easier, but it's not.
Overall there are less errors for sure, but considering it's taking the joy of celebration, the rules are interpreted different by refs, VAR acts different for comparable situations, I rather take a few errors more and have a simple game.
If you compare it with Murican Football they got cameras everywhere and there are still plenty of fuck ups, but they can take their time because the sport actually allows it due having so many breaks and rules still aren't used the same way by refs. Errors are just something that will happen no matter what.
Also I hate that the linesmen signalise an offside but the situation still gets played on. There have been situations where players got injured despite the linesmen already seeing an offside. Fucking shit rule.
I would honestly rather see a more simple approach overall. Professional refs, work on the rules again. I don't wanna spend 2-3 minutes for a decision about 1-2 millimeters. I don't wanna see players getting punished because they used their arm to support themselves while dropping down and the arm being shot at.
Alot of the rules just don't feel practical at all. You get the impression that people that make them, have never played themselves.

That they don't have a clue how to use VAR in the right ways.
Trent on skates last 10mins.
Condiment has done that same kick and run move with immense effectiveness.

Haha. No shame.
Messi was originally the winner.

Dan, cards on the table. Do you merely think that VAR is shit, or do you also think that officials are being pressured into letting us win the title/preventing City from winning it?

VAR in its current form is shit.
Thats the start and end of it.

.
Well fuck, that is half the counter point xd
But I do agree with most of what you are saying though. The handball rule is not working that well, and the at times delayed celebrations are annoying. But thinking back on matches, when I have been at the stadium, where Copenhagen have been cheated in both CL and league matches, we could have had such a different end result. Valdes kneeing N'Doye in the face, and the free kick for Barca as a result for example, or our infamous match for qual match against HSV, where a Championship referee fucked us over hard. God I wish especially in the last one, that we had VAR then. Especially for a team that depend financially on european (EL or CL) every year, it sucks that one bad ref can fuck over your clubs whole season and maybe even seasons to come. Things VAR would have prevented.
I also dont like offside being signaled, and then ignored. Just don't signal if the linesmen arent 100% sure, and then let play go on without signalling, but with ability to rule it offside after.
But again, overall I think VAR has been a positive. Despite it taking too long to review, I would rather have that, than Gazaniga getting away with kicking Alonso down. I would also rather have toes being judged offside, than feeling cheated by it afterwards when footage shows there was offside. People can say that is against the spirit of the game all they want, but holding a tight line for offsides, is a huge part of the game. And a rule change is needed if you really want that to change. However it will be interesting to see then, what an acceptable amount of offside would be. The tip of the toe? Small part of the head? Easier just to say offside is offside.
