By Daz Go To PostOle and I aren't mates, so he doesn't really confide in me.
But if you can only really deduce facts in football from tweets, then Gaitan would be having his testimonial in 6 months.
So if you can't take what a manager says publicly at face value, and you can't take anything insiders say either....how to you make any kind of assertion or assumption.
We knew Mourinho wasn't happy with the transfer situation a long time before he publicly made it very clear. It wasn't a surprise and it wasn't a secret. If there's no evidence to suggest Ole wasn't/isn't happy with the squad then I'm not sure how much value there is in trying to argue the opposite.
Actually that's one thing I was wondering about, that there's nothing much from insiders, even when we lost.
I remember quite a number of tweets insinuating that Ole wanted more, but that was it. Hell, we were looking for a no. 10 until the last minute until they decided rather remarkably, that they dont want it to be a reason for Madrid to instigate Pogba.
Think we need to wait until things get really bad until we see some exclusive reveals about the inside situation in United, and who was the fault of which.

N8 is right, becoming a EL hopeful club is honestly the best thing that can happen to Man UTD at the moment. Stay mid table long enough and those Lego sales will sink, forcing Woodward to do something. If you're lucky they will even sell the club.

Mou is a dickhead.
Ole won't come out against the club, he doesn't have the profile of someone like Mou. Heck, it took Poch like 5 years to start rebelling against the board's lack of spend.
I mean com on, with the facts all laid before you, how can you logically deduce that any manager would go into a new season with a squad this thin and bereft of quality. Take the blinkers off and think logically.

But he wanted more. The players he brought in did not fill the gaps they were supposed to. That's on Mourinho, but he was not content. He wanted 5 players, the club gave him 3 etc etc. Poch was happy because he was making significant progress, it started to fall apart only in the last season and a half when he'd got Spurs to be CL regulars and recognised they didn't have the squad to take them to the next level of actually challenging for titles. But as soon as he wasn't happy....we heard about it.
No, Ole won't rock the boat, he knows how lucky he is and he isn't going to jeopardize that. But that's kind of my point, an actual manager, a strong manager would rock the boat and have pushed for more signings in key areas, maybe a stronger manager would have gotten a couple more signings out of the club, not like you're short of money.
The squad is thin but I think Ole, wrongly, believed in it. Obviously the injuries haven't helped and you have to account for that, but I think Ole has overestimated what the youth could do and believed he could work with it until the next window. He was wrong.

But my point hasn't changed?
By batong Go To PostIncredible how stupid these pundits and ex-players are. They make NBA analysts look like geniuses. 🤡
et tu Scholes
By Willkiller Go To PostBut my point hasn't changed? No it hasn't but its less blinkered and more cogent to the facts at hand.
Whereas before you laid all the blame at Ole's feet like he's been there longer than 12 months. And then backed this idea with a nebulous claim that he was happy with the squad despite it being much weaker in vital areas and asking for a midfielder and no.10.
So lets say he kicks up a fuss and makes it clear that he's not happy with the squad, then what?
United are run by inept vampires.
Anyway, I'm going back to work.
By Daz Go To PostUnited are run by inept vampires.Pretty much what EVERYONE has been saying. Also why I'm not going all pissed at every draw or loss this season.
Even our unofficial press spokespersons commented how mismanaged we are, that there is no clear line from top to bottom. Hell, Woodward tried to get Phelan as our DoF because he actually went and tried to sort out the situation upstairs (which has somehow, improved.).
Yet we didn't go out to get one after he turned it down, possibly because of all the stupid restrictions he has allegedly imposed.
By Hitch Go To Posttil proudness is actually a word, just a largely defunct oneIt's something I could hear GNev say as well.
By n8 dogg Go To Postthe regulation zone is indeed dreadful💀

By Xpike Go To Postyoud think with such easy draws pep wouldve done the quadruple by nowIt's the 4th year where he claims City isn't good enough to win the Champions League.
Meanwhile Liverpool got into the finals twice, with a team that hasn't even won the EPL yet.
