By Freewheelin Go To PostI liked this ep more than the first tbh. It's still very exposition heavy, which is a problem with all Marvel stuff, but at least it's doing interesting things visually.exposition heavy as in they are as literal as possible? Like, zero subtlety? Or do you mean in a more visual/photograph way?
My main complains are that everything is way too on the nose, the Steven character is way too annoying and the whole topic/character is clearly more suited for a mature/darker take. This feels like disney-fying The Punisher.

Characters are literally explaining the plot to the audience and there's no visual clues or interesting character traits.

Yeah Moon Knight another 5/10 Marvel offering with a strong lead performance. Like all their D+ shows.
After the New Jersey high schoolerâs powers are awoken, she is able to manipulate the size and shape of her body, leading her to the catchphrase âEmbiggen!â However, trailers for the series appear to show Khan channeling purple cosmic energy through a magical bracelet instead.Coward
âWhat we will learn about where those powers come from, and how they come about, is specific to the MCU,â Feige say. âYou will see great comic splash panels in some of our action sequences. If you want big, giant hands and arms, well, theyâre here in spirit, if not in stretchy, plastic-type ways.â
First Obi-Wan episode was alright ... the second took a nosedive.
Some of the writing is just ... I still don't get how this stuff makes the cut with so many people involved.
Or maybe that's precisely why.

Just started the 2nd episode of Obi Wan and I'm as turned off as possible. Hate the main plot line decision. Already two laughable chase sequences and some terrible sets that also can't be saved by the Unreal Engine virtual set backgrounds.
The Disney+ platform for tv shows really isn't working for me. Star Wars is going the way of the recent Marvel shows. An interesting setting, good locales, decent premise. Then the quality drops off rapidly and to cover for that they drop a million references to other Marvel/Disney IP and commission back door pilots during the season for their next streaming show.
Mando S1 remains the gold standard for Disney+. I enjoyed S2 but there were at least three episodes in that run which were clearly meant to set up different shows.

Obi Wan seems fine 2 episodes in but I dunno about Reva as a character. But that could be all cause the choreography/stunts of her chase in episode 2 was rough.
I thought it was alright, certainly closer to Mando than Fett. I can see the precocious Leia angle wearing thin soon though
Damn, Disney don't piss about when you cancel +
Realised on Monday that I've been paying for it through my phone contract without realising. Every other service I've cancelled gives you 4 weeks since the last payment, Disney+ was gone the moment I clicked the button. Assume the payments I've been making have been at the end of the month of service rather than the start, if not I'll be a bit annoyed. Watched everything I really wanted to watch on there tho.

I pay through Apple and it lasts until the end of the billing period.
Had that issue with a free trial of adobe cloud. Just needed it for literrally two minutes then cancelled and it was gone automatically. Was a bit surprised.

Episode 3 of Obi could pass as Youtube fan fic stuff if it weren't for Ewan McGregor. Jesus Anakin Christ.

Is there still a weird subset of fans that think Star Wars is headed in a good direction?
TFA, TLJ, RoS, Solo, Rogue One, Mandalorian, Boba Fett, Obi Wan
iirc that's the big stuff Disney have done since they bought LucasArts, and it seems to range from worst-in-franchise to bang average. TLJ and Rogue One are divisive at best as far as I'm aware, and Mandalorian apparently shat the bed with a speed that would make Tim Kring blush.
Still blows my mind that they didn't have a plan for even two of the film sequels before they started on them. Kathleen Kennedy strikes me as a bit of an Ed Woodward/Jim Ryan figure.

This is all still better than the sequel movies. And for what its worth, the TV runs course correct where they can.
This is goofy but its still not Halo at least

Mando was the only thing worth saving, but now it's all setups for new shows and callbacks to Jedi era. Still more alive than Star Trek.
They just gotta get away from pre-existing characters because it makes the world feel so small, but they won't because they gotta sell Funko Pops.
They can do throw backs and novelty all day.
Scenes that are put together dumb as fuck are the biggest problem đ

Episode 3 was ok till the third sister was able to miraculously figure out where the tunnel ended and get there before Leia could and it suddenly had another exit to save obi-wan

Havenât watched Obi Wan yet(got to wait till mext week for it to release), but I think the film/live action tv is not going in the right direction. Just making stuff that nobody asked for and just trying to go for nostalgia. I did think Mando was great, but Boba Fett was a waste of time.
Rebels was absolutely one of the best piece of Star Wars media and the comics are pretty good at times.

How long do films usually spend in the theatre.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostFeels like I just watched it.It has come down pretty aggressively over the last decades. I don't know how long they were in theatres, but back in the 90s the average gap between theatrical release and home release was ~180 days, down to 120 in the mid-00s, then down to 75 days pre-pandemic. 45 days now that all the studios own/are owned by streaming giants
