A month ago, I said that Emery should stay till the end of the season, but sadly think it is time for Arsenal to part ways with Emery. I don’t think any manager should ever be told ‘win game x or you are fired,’ but we really needed to put in a good performance yesterday and we didn’t see it. We put in a decent 20 minutes after the break, but then our heads completely dropped after the penalty. And it is just another poor performance and result after another recently. I don’t see any of the same enthusiasm from Emery that was there last season. And he is most likely out of his depth to get the best out of this squad. Emery is unfairly ridiculed by people who absolutely no idea what they are talking about most of the time, and the only way to improve that is with the performances and results getting better. I just don’t see where that is going to come from right now, and displays like yesterday will only make things much worse.
Our squad balance is absolutely trash. The CBs absolutely can’t defend to save their lives and the midfield can’t string two passes together or dictate the tempo. Emery has really been let down with the squad building, but at the same time he should be building a game plan around those deficiencies. We have absolutely no identity. Our style of play is garbage, and quiet honestly we should only be playing counterattacking football, but 90% of the fanbase would be even more toxic than it already is.
I think Allegri needs to be brought in to turn this team around. People will say he can’t do anything without superstars, but they are quick to forget his Cagliari side and how his single best managerial performance for me was the third year at Milan when after he was gutted of his best players and who he had built the team around, was able to take the awful start and make third, and could have even knocked Barca out of the CL if it wasn’t for awful finishing from Niang. Dude won’t get us playing the most beautiful football ever seen, but he will develop game plans for each team we face to get the most out of our strengths.
I absolutely don’t want to see it given to Freddie, because who the fuck is Freddie? We are 100% saying we can’t attract a top manager and just willing to give up on the season.
If Levy was willing to make the decision to part ways with Poch, then we should be willing to do so with Emery. And Raul shouldn't be too far behind him.

The MDL comment was about the injury he got at the same time as Arsenal conceded.
And yes, I was watching both games at the same time, and Juve looked awful. Juve really lucky that Hig took over.

but we've taken some big scalps so far, some away from home and with a self-gimped XI, gotta count for something.

Hard to say what's going on with our squad at the moment. We played some great football for ~ 2 months at the beginning at the season. Yeah, we were conceding too many easily avoidable goals, but it was par for the course after such a drastic change. Then we suddenly started regressing. Currently it feels like our defensive line moves 5m back with every game we play. Last 5-6 matches were genuinely hard to watch.
Some players look completely gassed out. Khedira is literally a walking dead, yet still starts. Costa, the one spark that could start a fire up front while we wait for Ronaldo's form to come back, is permanently injured. I don't know, people tell me these ups and downs are part of the process, so we'll see how it goes. The one thing that's certain is we need to acquire a couple of Sarri players, if we want to play Sarriball.

Doubt City go for him/ If he wants to return there.
Liverpool front 3 already stacked.
Madrid once they sell Bale is possible.
Barca just bought Griez. Will need a ST to replace Suarez at some point so doubt they go for him.
We'd be in for him but no CL might be an issue.

Arsenal fans deserve better than this abbyss they have been thrown into. Emery needs to go, for the sake of both parties.

Liverpool above Madrid imo. Other than that I agree.
Why would you wanna leave a club that pays you well, is a candidate to win probably the most prestigious league and is a contender for the CL? It doesn’t really go up from there.

Would have to disagree on that.
Ajax are class. I hope we both make it through to the CL knockout rounds.
Having slept on the City result, my feelings are much the same. We didn't disgrace ourselves, and for the first half hour we were excellent. After the equaliser however, City showed that there is still a fair bit of catching up to do.
It really does feel the next step is converting good performances against big teams into wins. We've played well against Liverpool, City and United at points, but have nothing to show for it. Ajax away has really been the only time we've managed it.
We have home games against West Ham, Villa and Bournemouth to come, with away games to Everton, Spurs and Arsenal seeing the winter period off. It's vital that we turn Stamford Bridge until a fortress over the next month, if only to mitigate any away day issues.

The whole point of hiring Sarri was to continue getting the big sculps, but doing so in an attractive way. He does need time, and a true regista in midfield before it will happen. Time to bring the lad home from Paris. I also don't think having Ronaldo helps when he demands so much of the ball.
By Flutter Go To PostSo this is worse than Allegri's management period?
I have been scratching my head at this for the last few hours. Allegri set numerous records with Juve and won 9 of the 16 trophies he could have, with two CLs runner up medals attached.
I'm pretty sure Madrid are going to make a real push for Mbappe this summer, that means everyone else is off the table if that happens.
Not sure if you guys know, PSG want to extend Mbappe's contract this summer, making him the most paid above Neymar. If that happens, it's game over, Mbappe would probably never leave PSG, he would be too locked down. That's if Mbappe wants to stay, so far his camp has stayed low low. If he doesn't extend, he'll only have one year left in his contact, sure sign PSG will want to bank in this summer.
Neymar going to Barcelona is also a sure bet, Messi and Greassy don't talk to each other.

If you guys win against Valencia and we do the same against Lille we'll most likely both go trough. If that happens we can afford a 0-3 loss against Valencia in Amsterdam in the last game. Figure you guys will come out on top because of our head to head results. Still feel a bit salty about those games haha

Well CR7 left Manchester United for Madrid when they were in a similar position.
That’s true I guess. But this group has the potential to win multiple titles. Would imagine the hunger would be bigger in Liverpool after all those years without league titles. But from a player point a view I can see they want a new challenge.

Going away to Valencia isn't a comfortable proposition, not gonna lie.
At least you didn't lose at the Bridge - it wouldn't have been deserved.

Think Chelsea should be able to win there. We pretty much bossed them around the pitch and won 0-3. This Chelsea team has the same potential.

Yep, and we also really need to be careful of things becoming stale. This summer will be the third year this front 3 has been together, and we won’t have had anyone new in an attacking sense come in since Shaqiri in 2018.
FWIW, if I were Barca, I’d be making every attempt to sign Salah this summer. He’s like Messi but mortal, he’s the perfect player to allow them to make that transition to post-Messi era.

Sensational. Sam works in mysterious ways. Lars Jacobsen told this about his methods
he had 3 tours planned a year, that we rarely knew about until a week or two before. I remember suddenly having to go to Dubai, and I went over and told the kit man just to bring my small studs as we were just going to train, and not play any matches.
He laughed at me and told me we were going there for drinking only. We flew there on business class and the whole thing was trashed afterwards. On our bus trip to the hotel two players got into a fight on the bus, as they were already that wasted.
The crazy thing is we won every single time we returned home from one of these trips

BUT he did lose like half the locker room and it looked like a couple if not few were ready to call it quits (Costa was one)
Ronaldo clearly wasn't happy with his brand of football too....lol

He got fined for being an entire day late after the last national team break. It isn't the first time he was late, but an entire day had to be fined one way or another.
The game against Bayern wasn't so special either, coach could have subbed nearly the entire team off early. Given his form this season and his lackluster tracking back it was the right choice to take him off.
Not that it changed anything anyway. No need to act like a diva and think you're special. Everyone was shit and it didn't really matter who came off.
Should focus on getting in form before actually thinking he deserves special treatment.
By Pennywise Go To PostShould focus on getting in form before actually thinking he deserves special treatment.Yeah definitely, even more so considering his age.
To be honest, I want Haaland more than Sancho. Not only because I think we need a goalscorer more than a winger, but also more on the attitude both take.
Haaland eats and sleeps football. He drives and sets his alarm to the champion's league theme. We are probably at the bottom of the club he's interested to transfer to, but think he'd do quite well anywhere.
i cant fucking believe it. penalty. keeper saves it. but ALL OUR FUCKING DEFENDERS ARE SLEEPING and they score on the rebound. Fucking whores.
Rejoice Wooden, that Fred - Pereira midfield will make yesterday's Jorginho Kovacic combo look world class.
