Ok, just done reading The Athletic's article.
Well it's a good thing they're replacing Poch with a manager that can man manage better.
Last month one source told The Athletic that “the place is a regime and the players are sick of him”. Recently at a sponsor’s event four players were asked to pass a jokey comment on Pochettino’s hair in a picture of his playing days, but they went quiet, reluctant to say anything that might get them in trouble. “Pochettino, who is never particularly warm with his players at the training ground, had become even more stand-offish in recent weeks,” said a source. “It had become a ‘don’t look at the boss’ situation.”

Mourinho and Spurs.
Incredible. Never thought that would happen. He’ll leave the locker room burning within 2 years.

It looks like United will be keeping with Ole until the end of the season at least.
Who else is available? Allegri? It's Allegri isn't it.
God.

Woodward won’t plan for shit the prick.
He’ll keep it going until it becomes untenable then do a rush job.

Spurs have a good midfield and good forwards. They'll be fine under Mourinho provided they bring in who he wants too.
Poch was very good at improving players and making them better than anyone thought possible. I don't think Mourinho has that quality. Or at least that wasn't evident at his time with United.

By Hitch Go To PostWonder what the minimum requirement is. Already 14 points off of 4th, seems like there's a lot more to this dip in form than the players being sick of Pochettino.
Reckon Levy is best off just focussing on getting their transfers set up well in advance of the summer (January if possible obviously) and looking to finish in the top 8. As pathetic as Mourinho was in terms of lowering expectations at Man Utd, I wouldn't expect anything at all from Spurs between now and next season starting.
Whether Mourinho has the personality to spend 6 months getting his feet under the table at a struggling team without poisoning everything even more is the issue imo
We should be finishing 5th at least, Sheffield United are in that position currently and have won just 4 matches. If we can go on a good run then perhaps we can start to reduce the distance to 4th, we have got away games to Arsenal, Leicester, City and Liverpool out of the way already.
We have two world class forwards and enough quality in other positions to assemble a team that can win games consistently. A move to a more compact, counter-attacking style will suit us. We have been trying to play Dembele-ball without the man himself and it simply doesn't work.

Oliver Skipp will be his new McTom
By Scum Go To PostMoura will be Mou’s favourite.
Nah. I reckon Lamela gets in the side ahead of him.

Lamela, who always gets injured? Nah.
Son, Dele, Ndombele, Kane and Dier are probably undroppable.
There's going to be shit said about Sessegnon. "He's not a fullback"

I honestly cannot remember being sadder about my club in an entire decade. Imagine thinking Jose Mourinho is the answer, going from one of our most exciting coaches and periods in our recent history, to an absolute sideshow.
This is a man who managed to belittle Manchester fucking United, on a near weekly basis. It can't be more than 3 weeks before he mentions how losing is in the tradition of this club

He's only just recovered from injury, but he got a short cameo away at Red Star and notched an assist.

Poch was tired and wanted a new challenge, like all of us losing the CL damaged his soul. I remember when we lost 5-1 to Newcastle and lost 2nd place to Arsenal, how angry he was. He said he wanted to kill all the players and then himself. Now this season we lose 7-2 at home and he just brushes it off like any other game of football. His passion for the project was gone.
Honestly embarrassed
By batong Go To PostForgot about Sess, how much has he actually featured for Spurs? He's only played 45 minutes total, but he was bought injured, and only just game back.
Hoping that Poch takes a sabbatical, but it probably wouldnt happen. Think going straight to Bayern wouldnt be the best choice. Dude should take a half season break.

As inevitable as the Sun rising.
oh yeah, Mou would definitely consider Sissoko undroppable.

Oliver Kay’s piece for the Afletik is good on Poch.
Think he needs some time out, a la Pep at Barca/Klopp at Dortmund. Hope we snaffle him before Bayern/PSG do at the end of the year.

If Erikssen leaves would Mou lobby to get Matic to Spurs?
Dude already named a training ground in his home country after Mou.

How much do we think Spurs will bid for McTominay? I'm thinking £95m opening bid just to get the talks going.

Pls, Mou has been dying to work with Eric Dier for years. Dier is basically Portuguese, remember.

This is gonna be incredible
Praise be, the Premier League once again delivers. Mourinho at Spurs in 2019 is too special of a twist.

By bud Go To Posti'm happy jose's back.He was extremely tedious at United.
hate him or love him; the league's always more entertaining when he's around.
Good to see Cantona call out the Brazilian footballers support for Bolsonaro in his Guardian interview today.

I think Mourinho will do well. You can see on his interviews that he really misses being a manager so he must be hungry to prove himself again.
One thing is certain, I am going to watch a lot more Spurs matches now.
By Scum Go To PostGoing to miss Mou the Pundit though.Sad really. Mou is superior to nearly everyone in analysis.
By Laboured Go To PostHe's a better pundit than manager these days, as Spurs are about to find out.
While I think there are big questions to be answered about Mourinho in the (very) modern game, I don't think failure at United is necessarily the clearest indicator of his suitability for the modern game given the acceptance of United's problems above the manager. His scorched Earth policy when things go wrong is obviously a problem that will almost certainly arise again, but when things are going well he is still one of the biggest winners in the game.
I think it's absolutely fair to say he has never failed in a managerial role, though you would say this probably represents his biggest challenge in terms of winning trophies.
I think he absolutely failed at Man Utd
A league cup and a Europa League is almost meaningless at a club of that stature. Left them in a state worse than the one he found it in.

He was good at Utd until the media wouldn't shut up about kids, and the kids, and will somebody think of the kids?!?!?! And why aren't you winning the PL and the CL with the kids??? THE KIDS!!!!! A shit show, and the fans ate that up. One thing's for sure, the media made a lot of money when Mou was at Man Utd, the click-bait was furious and thunderous. It was the biggest spike in traffic in a decade for most of this journos.
The funny part though is that Mou was sacked when the team was 19 points away from the league leaders, a BBC article stating "United are sixth in the Premier League, but closer in terms of points to the relegation zone". With Sol at the wheel where did they finish? Sixth in the league, thirty two points away from the champions. Where are they now? Eighteen points away from the league leaders, after buying the one player Mou desperately wanted, the most expensive center back in history. But hey, at least the Instagram stars are happy (and happy to be Poggone soon enough) and because Ole is at the wheel there's no money to be made by the media, and demanding he drives the team into any kind of short term success just sounds mean and unrealistic, I mean, it's fucking Ole mate.
Whatever happens next, it will be a page turner for sure.

He was doing a decent enough job points-wise for precisely one season, and even during that he was making everything toxic. Nobody gave a shit about his lack of bringing youth through in 17-18 as I recall, they were just sick of the football the team was playing.
Then he and Woodward made a complete balls of the summer, with Woodward not trusting Mourinho enough to let him fix his own mistakes, and Mourinho making no attempt to hide his frustration with that, and the toxicity just got worse and worse until Man Utd had no option but to sack him. Doubt anyone with half a brain regrets replacing him with Solksjaer even if the latter is mediocre at best.
