RIP Ajax.
By Elchele Go To PostAllegri until end of the season and then ten Haag I hopeyou dont go for someone like Allegri as an interim manager.
I don’t have a license in Japan, but like Inky I started driving at 15 (in the US not Mexico), got a hand-me-down Civic when my parents bought a new car, and drove everyone everywhere as often as I could.
You don’t need a car in Japan, though it doesn’t hurt to have one. People here drive tiny econo-boxes, lots of electrics and hybrids. I’d do that if I felt like I needed to but you can get anywhere you need by public transport, and of course taxis and Uber exist as well.
I still love driving though, so I always look forward to borrowing my parents’ car for two weeks when I visit for vacation.

Don't get me wrong, driving can be liberating and becomes pretty much a must once you have kids but I really dislike relying on a vehicle for everything, that's why I like living close to downtown, it at least feels somewhat like a city where things are within walking distance, I would not do well in suburbia hell. It also doesn't help that the roads are becoming more and more congested because so many people are being priced out of the Bay Area.

Your US drivers license is not valid in Japan?
By Linius Go To PostYour US drivers license is not valid in Japan?
Not mine since it’s from California. Different states’ licenses can be.
By Elchele Go To PostAllegri until end of the season and then ten Haag I hopeI've read Allegri barely speaks English, let alone German of course. Doesn't sound like a good short-term solution.

I'm not sure I'd call a 3-2 loss a 'thrashing', but I see the point

so a proper shit Monday
I tried to work out what happened to Gomes' leg but it was hard to tell from the replay because its too far out. Looking at the pictures from other angles I reckon Sons tackle was a normal challenge but Gomes' foot got trapped as he fell awkwardly and twisted. Then Aurier clattered him and the extra weight caused the leg to snap. I might be wrong though as its hard to tell. I don't think either challenge was worthy of a red card though and its just an unlucky sequence of events. Will be interesting to see if the refs rescind the card for Son or not.
Seems like fans and commentators are all turning on VAR. It is becoming infuriating with how bad and inconsistent it has been so far but this is only because the refs operating it are shit.

It's quite clear that the only reason refs want VAR is to defend every decision they make, it makes a nice scapegoat to deflect attention away from the ref on the pitch

Gomes injuring his leg was unlucky.
Son clattering him definitely wasn't. Don't think the red will be rescinded.

if son hadn't done that, gomes wouldn't have broken his leg.
if i were son, i'd feel really shitty right now.

True. I imagine Son is going to get booed a lot, especially when he plays against Everton. If I was him I would just try to forget about football. Run away and join the army or do a Simba and live in the forest.

By FortuneFaded Go To Postdoicare is fumingUm yeeeeeeeeaaaah..... how do either of these posts make any sense?
The hilarious thing is the article is flawed because if you take the games they used then with VAR United had a net loss of 1 point. 1 point gained in the Liverpool game, 2 points lost against Arsenal, 0 points gained against Norwich because both of United's penalties were missed & they won 3-1 anyway. IF VAR DIDN'T EXIST MAN UNITED WOULD HAVE MORE POINTS RIGHT NOW.
People are assuming if you get a VAR decision then that's 'lucky' when in reality the majority of the time it's just an incorrect decision being changed to a correct one.
Not only that but the article doesn't take into account all the decisions that were incorrect & VAR never changed. Just taking the Crystal Palace game they missed 2 red cards, a penalty & James being booked for diving on the edge of the area when he was tripped.
If VAR actually worked properly then United would have +4 points.

That single tackle is where you can pinpoint the beginning of Arselol.
Every Monday, every weekday, we get up and go to work. Receive and send a few emails, call and host some meetings, dick around until 5ish and then go home. Maybe draft a report or two, yeah.
Only to repeat it the next day.
I wonder if I should start a family or something. Like get married and have kids. But then again, I love my alone time and Independence, I don't think I can live with someone for a long period of time.
Then I ask myself, what is it, should I trade it all for an apartment with a self-sustaining garden on an island somewhere? Grow tomatoes and enjoy the beach / sun?
