I'm still going to get agitated next game, even if Pereira or Jones is on the bench.

By Hitch Go To PostWe bring Gomez quite often when we're protecting a lead, sometimes at rightback granted, but sometimes as an extra centreback. I'm not a big fan of it since by design or by accident, it basically makes us cede control of the match. Tends to work though.
Often times doesn’t Gomez go rb and Trent come into the mid to better hold onto the ball?
I'm 50/50 over Ole subbing Tuanzebe in.
We shouldnt have conceded in the end, with that sloppy goal. However, Sheffield was starting to go for the attack rather than defending a lead or a draw, and our midfield was Fred and Lingard.

So many things happened in that game both before and after we scored our goals that were a direct result of our anaemic central midfield.
There's also a problem with our players seriously looking nervy after getting the lead. Greenwood holding the ball while on a counter, overthinking, and our players looking nervous at pressing as they did before.
Inexperience, lack of quality, lack of leadership.

By n8 dogg Go To PostWolves in fifth having played 25 games this season. Whew.could be higher if not for the false start
NES top manager, Jimenez a bargain in the current market, 14 goals 3 assists and it's not even december yet
I've started to see some online criticism on the signing of Maguire. Tbh I think it's completely unfounded. Just from watching him its clear that he's far better than Jones/Smalling etc. Much better on the ball, doesn't shit himself when the opposition cross into the box and so solid in one on one situations. I'd point towards the lack of defensive cover. At Leicester Ndidi mopped up so many chances before Maguire ever needed to intervene. When he needed to he could. But he didn't have to. Now, his midfield gives him zero assistance.
The biggest criticism seems to be that we're still conceding the same kind of goals that we did last season and the one before . That is, we invite pressure on ourselves. We contain the pressure and keep droppong back and back until eventually the opposition score. But that's a tactical fault rather than a player fault.

Issue is we started a premier league match today with Fred and Pereira as our midfield two. Just shocking, quite frankly. The fact we miss McTominay is a severe indictment of our football club.
Matic is probably sulking away because McTominay is our first choice so I dont think he will play a part if he's fit.
...and that's it. He's the only other senior midfielder we have that can snuff out attacks, and even then he has looked so out of it when he plays.

Nothing wrong with Maguire, the issue with United is without Mctom & Pogba playing together there is no control in midfield which then means a back 4 with a forever injured Shaw has to overcompensate. Of course unlucky goals & bad refereeing add to the bs.
Bodes well for the future. Unfortunately, I don't think the current regime is the right one to develop that talent.

By Doicare Go To PostSheffield United were just better than us. We got away with a draw at the end. Teams get injuries all the time but a team that competes in Europe every year should have enough squad depth to compensate for this.
At least they have stopped pretending.
Poch doesn't want UTD, so they will have to open the checkbook to convince him.

On the other side, I just shook the hand and took a picture with the wonder boy from Holland, Max Verstappen. Didn't manage to touch Hamilton tho. Saw some more ex F1 legends here in Monaco.
Incredible.

Times talking about Arsenal going after Allegri or Arteta (after having passed over them last year).
Palmeiras lost at home to Grêmio so Flamengo have won the Brazilian league with 4 games left.

Some dutch guy has been scamming himself to contracts around the world (both Willem II, Cape Town and some Chilean club), and the turn has now come to Denmark, where he signed for a first division club, who now has terminated his contract.

He is even photographed as playing for a club in Denmark that doesn't exist. What a lad.
