By AlphaSnacks Go To PostWhat are we looking at here?
The shot was a 3. But Curry landed back on the line.
Or is it the missed foul call on the shot?
Think we're looking at an and-1 that didn't get called.
I'm starting to get feels for Tim Duncan. Dude playing so well at such an advanced age, well, when it comes to athletics that is O_o.
By diehard Go To PostThat didnt effect the shot at all, so it woulda been kinda lame to see a foul called.Yea but the rules state you gotta give a player room to land. Anyone have a Vine of it?
By db Go To PostWarriors game was a fun watch towards the end. Curry with the clutch pocket 3. Wouldn't mind seeing them win it all since they're my mom's team and my own team is just pfffft with injuries.
Jesus how many teams are you gonna root for
Wanted to make a comment, but I'll be forced to endure 275 different variations of how to use "salt" as a insult from db.
Thanks though kad. :D

By DominicanPower Go To PostTyreke Evans is god awful.
I rewatched the last 6 minutes of the fourth(because apparently I'm a masochist) and you aren't lying.
I've bitched all year but in my anger didn't realize it so clearly but Evans pretty much botched or ruined every possession he was the facilitator from 6 minutes on down. Completely killed our flow and Monty just sat idly. Even went to Evans ISO after he finally called a timeout. Didn't let jrue facilitate til the 1 minute mark.

has reirom ever lasted this long on a forum without being banned? He must not know how to handle it.

You're kind of dumb aren't you.
The Curry 3 was 100% a foul. Like, that is called at every other moment of the game. That wasn't even a "holding your whistle" end of game bullshit. That was a clear foul that should always be called. Personally think the refs just got caught up in the moment.
I bet if that game was in GS, it would have been called, though.
TBH, the refs were piss-poor last night overall. Not for one team or the other, just bad in general.

Flopping is like hack-a-center. They're ugly blemishes to the game, but they're going to keep happening as long as it's strategically viable.

Yup. I wish they'd call it more. I'm sure it's tough to catch in the moment, but nobody likes it, and it makes the sport look bad.
To be fair we get to see replays. They don't. Which is why it's something that needs to be more heavily regulated post game.
By RBK Go To PostIf the average fan can instantly tell if it's a flop or not, how can a trained NBA referee not?
I don't think the average fan usually can, in real time. Especially not from a specific angle at floor level.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostI don't think the average fan usually can, in real time. Especially not from a specific angle at floor level. There's a lot of stuff people aren't trained to see. The average fan can't notice a hand on the shooter's elbow or sift through all the bs that goes down beneath the rim or during screen action.
Flops and selling contact aren't the same thing either. On top of that, you got guys throwing themselves at the rim with all limbs extended instead of even pretending they were trying to get a FG at any point.

Don't beat around the bush Dy.
Also flops aren't hard to tell. I can understand the angle, but 8/10 times, the flops are so damn obvious.

Curry got fouled and it really isn't much of an argument. On the other hand Speights clearly travelled on the rebound.
Basically that entire last sequence was a gigantic mess for all involved.

By db Go To Postcough Harden coughmeh BUT
here's my thing about offensive flopping - it puts an insane amount of pressure on defenders. It's not even quantifiable. Guys are already absurdly hard to stop in the NBA as is but asking defenders to deal with your typical superstar calls on top of the occasional faked death is too tall of an order. A good defender leaving the floor because of it compounds the issue.
At least hacking a crap shooter is a calculated risk.
By RBK Go To PostLogged in to post the same thing.I'm not gonna single out Harden in this kind of discussion. Only reason it came up in the past was because yal wanted to pretend he isn't the current poster boy for it. But ginobli still plays and the entire Bulls fanbase wishes Rose learned how years ago.

Just saying
And some flops, sure, but refs have crap views and players know it. Just like how guys get away with illegal blows in boxing.
Just have a ref on the sidelines reviewing video, something gets tagged a flop, what happens after that tho needs to be hashed out.

Well yeah, when players do a minimum of decent defense it's suddenly foul, foul, foul. Does not bode well when even the good defenders are getting punished consistently.

It's the cannonball into the lane shit that's above and beyond

He's the one reason i wanted the Warriors to face the Pels instead of OKC. I've watched a good amount of Pelicans games on league pass this year. Tyreke is not a smart baller.
Good thing is not a ton of players have the foot work and body control to abuse it. Rose and Wall have no idea for example.
Harden and Ginobli are ace tier. I thought Smart had that ability but apparently not.
Melo would be a gawd if he had that ability.

I referenced the overlap of these things in the game in the "Hack-a_____" thread, and Giri asked me if I was drunk.
Glad someone else understand what I was talking about.

You give Ginobili too much credit. This isn't 2010. Now he's just slow and awkward.

I wouldn't say he's bounced back, because he used to be consistent 6th Man of the Year material. I think he has, however, found his niche on the team as a facilitator rather than the creator he used to be.
