They really should change who votes. Local media really shouldn't be given a vote. These guys only watch most teams a few times a year, when their own team matches up with them. National guys like Lowe are fine because it's their job to watch everyone.

The east coast guys are asleep during west coast games so they vote on basic stats, like rebounding and blocks, rather than their eyes. Not that the eye test should be it, but I bet only a few local guys look at more advanced stats, regardless.

I wondered about the timing too when I heard about Brooks. Hard to say the team underachieved considering the roster turmoil, not that I would defend Brooks as a good coach of course. Lowe speculates that it might be due to his contract situation and not wanting to pay multiple coaches. Given OKC's history of.......frugality, that wouldn't be out of the question.

I hope for Gondo's sake that Presti is lying when he says KD and Westbrook weren't consulted. I can see why you would say that to media, but if it's true that is fucking foolish.

Simple, you don't think he's good enough to take them over the hump. Hollins got fired the year he took Memphis to the WCF. SVG was "fired" by Riley months after nearly making the Finals on his first attempt.

If you believe there's a move out there than improve you, you do it. Past results should factor into decision making but shouldn't solely dictate it.

Why does making the Finals mean Brooks should not be fired?
