I still like Rondo. *shrug* He doesn't fit every system though. I don't suspect Karl wants him. However, Andre Miller has been good in Karl's system and Miller could never shoot either.
I would look at the Nets as a destination. They have pieces Dallas may want in a sign n trade.

By Sho_Nuff82 Go To PostRondo put up 17/10/10 in 2009, 17/12/7 in 2012 and 15/9/6 in 2010 playoffs, including several big games against the Magic, Cavs, and Heat. 09 was no KG year. Dallas would kill to have that guy on their team right now. Earlier this year they were better than any of those Celtics teams offensively.
He has regressed completely, even though his jumper was shaky he used to be a difference maker on defense and damn good at getting to the rim. Injuries and years of tankball ruined him.
Whilst injuries have hampered him, he was spoiled by HOF shooters all around him. He could get to the rim because KG's illegal screens are some of the best in the game.
And he could expend all that energy on D because on O, he didn't have to expend that energy. He just had to initiate the offense, then clear out. Its also why he was such a good offensive rebounder, he regularly stood on the perimeter unmarked and could just sprint in.
Rondo was in the perfect position for a guy with his skill set. But injuries have taken some of the athleticism and fearlessness away, not having 3 HOF'ers to carry the offensive load has meant he has to try more on that end, and he's not as natural at play making as someone like rubio.
Rondo's a good player, but situational. He's the last guy you get, not the first. He's also suffering because many people ran stupid lists that had him as a top 5 point guard. He isn't and wasn't.

With 31 y/o Pierce, 32 y/o KG and 33 y/o Ray. As long as he could beat his man, it was an assist or a lay up very frequently.
Dirk, Richard Jefferson and Monta just don't compare on either side of the ball to what he had. His attempts at the rim have gone down pretty dramatically, his average shot attempt during the PIerce-era and after is a difference of 4 feet. He was still 27/28 years old and should have been expected to get to the rim, but he didn't.
He benefitted tremendously from Boston's big 3. You can't really hope to recreate that kind of starting line-up.

To back up Deron?
Even if you could put together a roster that mirrored Boston's big 3 in 2007-2011, you could do better than Rajon Rondo at point without too much effort.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostA lot of glass houses getting smashed to pieces around these parts. People better watch where they step.Or what, you'll be even more obnoxious talking up the Raptors next year before eating shit?
Bruh both last year and this one it was you who threw the stones without the self awareness to see that your own house was made of glass. Talking about how great your crowds are, how loud they are, oops they just went home early. Talking about All-Star Lowry being the best point guard in the East, oh wait Wall just pushed his shit in. Talking about Dwayne fucking Casey being some kind of great coach with the best record in Toronto.
Now you wanna act like you're the one catching undeserved heat? Fuck that. You earned this. Suck it up.
By Forever Go To PostOr what, you'll be even more obnoxious talking up the Raptors next year before eating shit?Mate, you weren't exactly ghandi quietly leading about the nets. You were out there giving more sermons than al sharpton.

Wasn't long ago that Dallas wanted Deron.
By giririsss Go To PostMate, you weren't exactly ghandi quietly leading about the nets. You were out there giving more sermons than al sharpton.I didn't talk them up this year. I was the only one around here who recognized what a loss Kidd would be from the moment it happened. As soon as I realized Hollins was garbage I said so, and I've never stopped saying so. I didn't run my mouth talking about how we might sweep the Hawks. Not even fucking close.
Catching up to the thread and I see Forever isn't in a forgiving mood lol. Can't say he's wrong tho, been a long season of trolling...
Haha is this how the league will give the Nets a win? Count all of the Hawks baskets as the Nets points?

Rondo has always been overrated. All those defending him are Celtic fans like Bill Simmons. Any capable or rookie PG would had gotten those numbers as well or even better while playing with 3 HOFs. I loved how they kept spreading the "Playoff Rondo" myth, and everybody bought it. Hope he is out of the league after signing with the Lakers.

Dude, there is a deeply unhealthy amount of venom in your posts. If you have life issues to work out, get a therapist. You'll have much better results than ranting against me.
By Truphenom Go To PostI thought brooklyn was supposed to get Lopez the ball more lol.
Too busy passing it to the hawks.
The one thing I don't understand is why Bud insists on putting in Antic over Muscula. From what I've seen Muscula is much less an liability out there than Antic.
Norris Cole is a better point guard on a team that intends to win games than Rondo. Like... I can't express how much of an uphill battle it is for an offense that has to deal with defenses doubling off the guy with the ball. That's just insane. Carlisle is that dude for telling Rondo to fuck the fuck off though. I love this new trend of coaches throwing players in the bushes.
fuck everyone who was around 5 years ago when i was taking constant shit for hating on Rondo and never said anything.

I would include Atlanta's lame crowds as one of the reasons for why I don't think they go all the way. Imagine the disparity at home in a Hawks/Dubs series.

You're better off with Exum. Like... Rondos triple doubles are the perfect example of empty stats and bullshit numbers. There's stepping away from a guy and daring him to shoot and then there's literally not even looking at the primary ballhandler. The Celtics at one time literally had a better offense with no point guard in the rotation than with Rondo averaging 10 worthless assists a game.

Not to mention he is one of the most shameless assists inflaters in history.
Insider on clutchfans says LMA to Houston is a possibility.
He also says Lakers aren't going to max Rondo, which is pretty obvious at this point. Welcome to the Knicks, Rajon.

They were having trouble selling tickets up through last year, most of the fans just showed up for this run. Give them some time to get their legs under them.
I see LMA to SA more than Houston. But i still don't really see him leaving.
Also, Brooke Lopez's health really ruined the nets franchise. Guy is still so good when healthy.

I remember when Rondo was giving up open fast break layups for assist when he was trying to break Stockton's consecutive double digit assist games. Lol

I'd say SA is likely if Duncan and Ginobli come back, but then they would have to take huge paycuts.

I dunno, but it would let Duncan come off the bench. Imagine the production he could put up only have to play 20mins a night?
I just don't see Aldridge leaving. Mostly because he's had ample opportunity before and insisted on staying.
