Rondo was getting benched in the 4th quarter of that NBA Finals for Sam Cassell and Eddie House because the Lakers would sag off him.

He's also the main reason they lost in 2010 (Kobe's non-defense of Rondo did them in).

The NBA has become far more point guard threat oriented the last few seasons. The NBA has passed him by AND Rondo isn't even as good as he was 4 years ago (which wasn't great but at least above average).

Rondo's time has come and gone.

to be fair, he's actively gotten worse in that time span, dude was shooting 48 and 45 percent from the field not too long ago compared to 40 now and his FT percentage literally got cut in half this year (60/30).

I've though Rondo is worth the MLE...and yet I still wouldn't want to sign him for that.

But somebody is going to bite. I don't know for what price, but it is going to happen. This is the NBA, after all. Just don't let it be my team!

going back to the idea of playing westbrook at the 2 in a small ball guard lineup. If OKC could get a PG who could facilitate, idk maybe rondo through a sign and trade (keep in mind i don't see Rondo getting more than 10 starting and the cap is going up) I think OKC would be a lot more dangerous next season. Even with Rondo not playing as well, his real strength has always been feeding the ball to better offensive players

Kings are the only team I could really see going after Rondo. After the way he has played, they can probably get him now too.

Teams with money to spend or who could get rid of a contract in order to take on Rondo:
6ers - Hinkie knows Rondo ain't shit
Spurs - FO knows Rondo ain't shit, plus Patty + Tony
Knicks - I don't think even the knicks will be that stupid
Magic - Have Elfrid
Blazers - Have Dame
Celtics - Been down that road
Hawks - Set at PG
Suns - Knight, Eric
Mavs - Literally sitting him during the playoffs
Pistons - Jackson/Jennings
Bucks - already have the MCW project
Raptors - not stupid, also have a PG
Lakers - If I'm being completely honest, LA is much more likely than the majority of these teams to offer Rondo money to play basketball.

Jazz - Need a PG, but I doubt they're dumb enough to entertain the idea of Rondo on that roster
Pelicans - maybe. Ownership/FO doesn't seem to have a clue on how to put together a team
